-It felt like 2003 tonight.
-HOWEVER - this team ain't won shit yet.
-MUCH respect to Steve Nash. He's a man amount men. He may not have the tools to impact the defensive end of the court much, but he has the will and the intelligence to impact the GAME.
-The media perpetuates bullshit perceptions and its never been more evident than now. Examples follow:
1. Amare calls the Spurs dirty yet the fact is that Amare was 2nd in the leauge in personal fouls. Give me a break
2. Raja Bell is far more physical than Bruce Bowen. Kurt Thomas is as physical as ANY big man the Spurs have on their roster. These guys are bruisers and play tough (and very good) defense but if Bowen is going to carry any sort of label under the dirty catagory these 2 certainly deserve it as well yet all you heard about Thomas was about his good defense.
3. The Spurs are the best team in the leauge at not fouling. Surely a dirty team would NOT be able to do that
In the end I coudln't care less about what the national media or NBA fans in general think of this team. I just want to point out how inconsistent the bullshit you see in the media is. Its all about parroting the latest soundbyte regardless of how much truth there is behind it.
-In that thought, anyone who says this series is tainted is foolish. Of course the question is going to come up because reporters will have to ask the question but anyone who saw the games knows that the best team won. The Suns had their chances and I promise you Nash will not seek any excuses. I can't say the same about his owner, his coach, or his fans, but I know that he will give the Spurs all the credit they deserve.
-Fuck the Suns fans. I'm not sure what it is with these new age NBA fans in places like Phoenix and Dallas (I kinda imagine Cleaveland fans being the same, but maybe not) but it becomes apparent that newer teams with a fan base that is attracted by owners like Sarvar and Cuban are idiots and degenerates. I suspect Jazz fans will be of a different sort and I look forward to that. Fuck you, Suns fan.
-Tim Duncan is incredible. His demise was GREATLY exagerated.
-Manu is incredible. His demise was GREATLY exagerated.
-Pop had a brain fart in game 4, but overall his performance in this series was above average. I thought his substitutions tonight were right on the ball and he managed to ride the appropriate hot hands at the appropriate times. Props, Pop.
-DiAntoni on the other hand is a cry baby and a poor one at that. I don't think the Suns will ever get better with this guy leading them. I feel bad for Nash to a great degree because of that.
-Bring on the Jazz. Spurs in 6.
