Hello SA fans, congrats on a solid victory! I was hoping to see PHX in the finals since SA pretty much own the Jazz, for like what, the last 5 years? Yes, I'm a troll, been over at Houston and Warriors boards and now yours. For the record, I've been a Spurs fan for a long time but grew up in lilly white Utah going to Jazz games and split when I had the chance.

Don't know your board at all but be forewarned that a lot of dickhead jazz fans are about to crash it, hope you don't put me in that category.

Questions. Do you guys feel like you will roll the Jazz? Do you think Utah even belongs in the WCF? Both houston and W's underestimated Utah, will Spurs? Is this series going to go down as the "Boring Ball" series? Why don't other fans appreciate what fundamental, hardnosed ball can get a team?

I love watching the Jazz play. They match up great with the Spurs and have more than held their own. The Jazz also have the Spur killer on their team. Should be a great series. As long as a Jerry Sloan team doesn't become a bunch of gaping vaginas like basically every Suns fan on the planet, it should be an enjoyable series with some fun smack talk going back and forth.

All I know is ABC and BSPN's executives are jumping out of 25th floor windows right now... and they take Tim Legler, Michael Wilbon, and Michelle Tafoya with them. :downspin:

Too much respect for Coach Sloan to take the Jazz lightly. The seven Suns fans that actually watch the series are about to discover what a physical series is all about.

No.

Do you think Utah even belongs in the WCF?
Absolutely.

Both houston and W's underestimated Utah, will Spurs?
No.

Is this series going to go down as the "Boring Ball" series?
Yes.

Why don't other fans appreciate what fundamental, hardnosed ball can get a team?
Because they are fairies.

The Jazz are the best team left playing, and that is a fact.

The Spurs will be lucky to pull this one out in 7.

The Jazz are better rebounders, they execute well.

Sloan is a fantastic coach.

This series frightens the shit out of me.

The Jazz match up extremely well with the Spurs. Boozer is beast. Okur always plays very well against the Spurs. AK is a bad matchup for the Spurs (unless he's crying somewhere and doesn't show up :) ) and they have two tough guards in DWill and DFish. Plus their bench isn't shabby with Harpring, Millsap and Giricek.

It will be a tough series.

Welcome to the Jazz fan(s).

I like our chances because we're better at the half-court game. That said, so is SA. Should be one hell of a matchup. At this point I would say it could go either way. The BIG questions and determining factor will be to what extent does the Jazz bench show up. If they play as they have been - maybe kick it up a notch I think we've got a really good chance. I need to get some prozac to avoid damaging things as I watch the games - I'm told I get a little agitated!

This is a scenario that I certainly wasn't expecting at the beginning of the season. Both of my favorite teams meeting in the Conference Finals; they definitely deserve to be there as well. It should be a great series!

I haven't checked the TV schedule yet but I hope they show the games live here in Beijing...

1. you are not a troll, you are just a Jazz fan. We have alot of other teams fans here, your more than welcome. we are a tolerant people.

2. yes we can.

3.Utah is still better than 1/2 the EC teams... so yes they belong here in the west.

4. I don't think so. But we arn;t giving you too much credit either. I think it always breaks down to matchup and not seeding or regualr season record. And theres always gotta be props for coming in the top 8 of such an incredibly talented and competitive conferance

5. There is no such thing as "boring basketball".... unless you are a 12 yr old raised on boot leg And1 videos..

6. because alot of folks are casual and uneducated basketball "fans" and don;t understand what the game is really about.

I'm not hung up on that, didn't take time to read all the backlog, just want to get some good fan to fan smack going. I have to confess that I am a huge Duncan fan, have been from his rookie year, though there was a time when Jazz could answer. Boozer is indeed a beast. Who will Pop asign to shut hime down? Leave Okur outside and he will hurt you. I saw Parker in his rookie year playing the Jazz in SLC and I was pretty much, wtf?? this guy is the real deal and scary fast. I also saw Deron a few months ago in a great game and see the same potential, not as fast, but gets the game. What you think?

But the Jazz play defense, can rebound missed shots, and have more than one player who can consistently create shots.

Let's see what the kid Williams and some of the young players do when the full pressure is on. I think the Jazz are still a little too green at key positions to take the series, but it'll be tough and the Spurs are going to have to come out to play each and every night. I think the Spurs should take the first two at home, and if that happens I have it Spurs in 5. Maybe 6 if they decide to take a home game off.

Game on, glad you guys remember that. We used to own you! And, could someone refresh my memory on how you guys landed Robinson and Duncan with number 1's? You guys have been leading a charmed life in that regard, though tanking the season to get Duncan wasn't so classy. Lets see, Utah get's two first rounders within 5 years...hmmmm, we would have nailed Jordan's ass to the floor. And yes, this series is all about Jazz not getting to nail Jordan. Its a bitch in a small market.

What? That's all boring? Spurs tanked, Jordan ruled (and pushed off Russel). Don't think the fans, much less the team, pups though they are, forgot.

It's lame, but since you are new, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

The Spurs got the first two ping pong balls in the lottery, both before Boston. Talk to someone else about that one. That was a terrible year and nobody on the team enjoyed it enough to make it worse by tanking games. Dominique Wilkins was the leader of the team that year, and he was way past his prime and played out of his mind. He'd have retired before he let anyone tank games while he was working that hard. David Robinson ended up having to retire from the back problems that he had during that season, unless someone thinks that was just orchestrated to keep from blowing their cover.

So now that we've got that out of the way we can talk about basketball. If you want to act like a Suns fan I can just put you on ignore.

Are you kidding me? Go back and check the facts on Roinson's "injury" and re-look at Jordan pushing off. Yeah, Dominque was studly, didn't want to give up, but is is common knowledge the last part of the season was a play for Duncan. And was that bad? No, you got Duncan.

The thing for the Jazz is that AK47 FINALLY showed up this season, and not a moment too late for them.

If he can continue to roll then it will cause all kinds of nightmares for the Spurs.

Im not sold on Boozer yet. Lets see if he can continue his hot play this series and next year, he may end up being a one hit season and playoff wonder like Elton Brand last season.

Juwan Howard/Chuck Hayes/Al Harrington etc are alot different to a Powerd Forward like Duncan. I fully expect Duncan to dominate Boozer.

If he is on, then you can pretty much guarantee he will shutdown whoever is playing the 2 spot on the Spurs.

I dont think any team uses their D specialist on Bowen coz they know he will just kill you occassionally with the corner 3. AK is too lanky to guard Duncan and i think too slow to guard TP.

I think his main job would be shutting down Manu and of course playing help D, which is also one of his strong points

It's an intriguing series. May be low scoring but the matchups are very interesting. Its hard to pick a winner

uhm...from an outsider's point of view...so what if they landed 2 great #1s. i think they arent the whole team. spurs were good enough to scout and draft manu, and tp; courted finley, signed and lured horry and barry. they worked for what they have now man.
