View Full Version : I am so glad that we knocked D'Antonie's @$$ out of the playoffs!

That guy pisses me off like no other. Always bitching and moaning in a very demonstrative way. I'm surprised as to how he rarely gets techs. He's so arrogant and so annoying. He's the complete opposite of Pop, who never goes around and calls the Spurs more talented than their opponent or calls his superstar "the best player to play in the last 10 years" (which is a load of crap btw).
Screw you D'Antonie, enjoying fishing.
Btw, the Suns can bitch and moan all they want about losing game 5 without Stoudemire and Diaw, but they lost in game 6 with both guys fully rested and ready so imo that excuse is worthless.

I thought he was going to pop an artery last night when Tim got in a jump-ball and d'Antoni wanted a travel on Tim. He went berserk, and stayed berserk right thru the time-out he called. Amazing. a fucking nut-case.

Over a beer I was talkin' to my buddy (yeah, right!) about D'Antoni's anger and emotional issues, and this is what I told my ole buddy about why the refs didn't T him up the end of game 5:
"Well, ya see, the refs felt like they weren't working with much at that point, most of D'Antoni's smarts were flushed down the toilet by the game's end. His brain was fried by the white hot temper he couldn't control. So they quietly handled him with kid gloves and a soothing demeanor, and hushed-hushed him into the quiet zone where he could regain his composure because it was so obvious to everyone else watching in horrid fascination, the visual display of Sun's leader losing his leadership creds and levelheadness while giving in to infantilism, a trait the Sun's staff and fans seriously need to rid themselves of. The Suns as a team are growing up right in front of our eyes. I appreciate the effort and tenacity they've put forth."

He's such a caricature of himself, and at times it almost seems like he wants to get called for a technical but for the life of him can't get the refs to oblige...

The Suns can't win with DAntoni coaching. Period.

D'Antoni is among the bottom fodder of coaches. He's that bad. He's a disgrace to the profession. UV Ray would do a better job.

One day he will learn that this is the NBA and not Euroball....
You actually have to play D and not just try to shoot more that the other team
And you also have to use more than 6 players in a game
:rolleyes Guys a joke.... so's his mustauche

Dont forget, the Suns are "more talented" according to this lightweight. Not a top level coach, probably on the Jeff Van Gundy level. I think the best coaches are Pop, Sloan and Riley in that order. De Antioni is maybe in the top 10.

I'd say D'Antoni is a good, not great coach. You don't win 62, 57 and 61 games if you're a bad coach. He's find a way to get a lot out of players who otherwise wouldn't be much, such as Diaw and James Jones. He's also developed a system that turned Steve Nash from a decent point guard to the best PG in the league.
However, he's stubborn when it comes to using his bench. Game 5 might have gone differently had he been willing to play Jalen Rose, a guy who averaged 13 points a game just a season ago. He also doesn't have the demeanor to be a championship coach. He loses his head when things aren't going exactly his way, as evidenced last night when he spent a timeout screaming at the officials instead of coaching at a juncture his team desperately needed to change something.

The truth is that if you are in the NBA, you can run, jump and shoot well. And if you don't have to worry about D and thats all you have to do, then you will succeed in DAntoni's system. Unfourtunatly his system doesn't work in the NBA
