The winner of the Draft Lottery has been determined.
But only about 25 people know the results.

And they're currently locked a room upstairs without any way of communicating to the outside world. And they'll stay there until the results are announced on ESPN.

For more on what goes on in the room, check out Jeff Dengate's writeup from last year.

Jeff's in the room again right now, and he'll let you know how it all went down once he's allowed to get back to his computer.

Hell no. Durant + Allen + Lewis = a fucking smallball NIGHTMARE. If they can get anything out of Saer Sene at center and Ridnour at PG, they will have a top 3 offense next season.

as long as they dont give lewis a max nor near max deal.

I agree but their inside players are horrible..

If they're smart, they'll trade down to take Conley or Law. That's too high to take them there.
They also have the 11th pick...that's where they'll take Conley.

Yep, or Acie Law if Conley is gone. I'm hoping for Corey Brewer with the #3 pick...it might be a tad high to take him but it's not a bad reach.

Atlanta could be BAD ASS next season...at least for an EC team.

PG - Conley or Law, Claxton, Lue
SG - Joe Johnson, Josh Childress, Salim Stoudemire
SF - Josh Smith, Corey Brewer
PF - Marvin Williams, Shelden Williams
C - "Hotel" Zaza Pachulia

Believe it or not, there is actually other players after Oden and Durant. Horford is a stud PF that can do everything... he runs the floor extremely well, can handle, has a nice midrange jumper, rebounds at a high rate, can block shots, is a terrific post defender, etc. He's not Oden or Durant, but he's a damn good player who also brings invaluable championship experience to whatever team gets him. Not many pro players can say they've won two collegiate championships.

I might be the only one who sees it that way, but I absolutely love Horford... always have.

Losing the coin flip to Portland for lottery order cost the Timberwolves Greg Oden.

Him and Garnett would have been scary.

Too bad the Hawks didn't get #1. Oden may have gotten his wish of playing with Conley had he still been at #11.

Portland will be the 8 seed next year.

Seattle will still suck, especially if they let Rashard Lewis go.

They could be the 5 or 6 seed next year. Oden's a freaking monster, they have Brandon Roy, and they should be able to land a good swingman for Randolph after his career year.

i doubt oden will be THAT good in his first year. i was not completely impressed at his performance in the ncaa tourney. i imagine a Bogut/DHoward type rookie year, but followed by a monstrous DWilliams/Monta Ellis type breakout in his sophomore year. but of course, thats just my opinion

all those mocks were made before the actual order was established tonight, therefore irrelevant. conley would fall to 10-15 if billy king was making picks 1-10. we shall see in a month.

brewer isn't going past 6 or 7.

i hope atlanta takes him at 3. then conley or law at 11. then people will see the new generation phoenix suns, except with bad ass defense. hot, sweet, badass defense.

someone says it every year, but this time it's going to happen - Atlanta WILL be a playoff team next season.

joe johnson & josh smith - all stars
corey brewer - rookie of the year
josh smith - defensive player of the year
josh childress - sixth man of the year
shelden williams - most improved player
marvin williams - all around badass who will shut up all the "chris paul!" haters
mike woodson - coach of the year

Atlanta Hawks - 2008 NBA Champions......okay well maybe not that last part :hat

the Suns get the Hawks 2008 draft instead, which is not as deep, so it works out for the Hawks

so why does everyone hate boston?I've always hated the Celtics. When I was a kid, before the Spurs existed, I was a Knick fan. Then I lived in Boston for 17 years, including all of the Bird years, and got to experience the naval-gazing arrogance of Celtic (and Red Sox) fans up close.

If Boston goes 0-82 for the next 18 years, okay by me.

The only Memphis fan on here besides mullet, saying that we got what we had coming.

PErhaps next year the basketball gods will be more kind to us for trying instead of tanking. MAybe next year we can get someone to take us over the hump.

Well at 4, we have some good options. PG is where I'd like us to go, but at #4, that's a bit too high for either Conley or Law. Hmm. Well having Kevin or Greg here to take pressure off of PAu would've been nice, but Al (Horford) and Joakim Noah would be a nice consolation for me. Yi Jianlian is unknown to me right now. Corey Brewer would be nice, if the Hawks dont take him. And Brandan Wright? Well Im just glad this draft is as deep as it is. Do we go with the inside prescence to help out PAu? OR stay with our need and take a point so high?

Either way, my hopes of seeing a certain Buckeye or Texas alumni in Memphis are dashed.

Memphis fans' despair and anger is so palpable.....not. I think maybe a fourth of the city even knew we got the 4th pick.

I was suprised to see that Boston and Memphis still cared about basketball. I don't think most of either teams fans understand that the #5 and #4 picks in a draft this highly touted can still get you a perenial all-star.
