Clinton Portis for Champ Bailey.......

who got the better deal? Denver or Washington?

Im gonna go with Denver.... Champ Bailey is a shut down corner and the best in the league at his position.... Portis is doing pretty good himself.....

Gotta go with Denver, since Washington still sucks.

Hard to find great Cornerbacks. So my answer would be: Denver.

Denver also was able to draft Tatum Bell in that deal and therefore was able to get Dre Bly.

So when it's all said and done, Denver got a hall of fame corner out of it, plus a pro-bowl caliber corner out of it.

The only thing missing is a CB like Bailey for the Charger D.

I wouldnt have wanted to give up LT for Champ though.

I disagree. Rivers will be better then Eli. Eli has done nothing but take steps back in his career.

sure he's off and on right now but he has much more potential than Rivers. That is laughable. I know I don't need to post any stats from last year to show you how much better Rivers was. And remember, it was only Rivers first year starting. Eli will never be anywhere near what his brother is, and I guarantee you Rivers gets a ring before Eli.

no he didnt you Turning Sheli into Rivers, Kaeding, Merriman, and Oben is about as raped as you can get. Again, Sheli for three pro-bowlers. Many experts said this is a trade that will go down as one of the best ever.

Eli will never be anywhere near what his brother is

i doubt it too, the reason i think he will be better than Rivers is a couple of reasons. he has the genes in the family obviously, he has better mechanics, his quarterback coach in college coached Peyton and a couple of other greats, and i know the Giants are willing to build around him more than the Chargers will build around Rivers

and I guarantee you Rivers gets a ring before Eli.

if Rivers goes to another team and serves as a backup, i can see to that

as far as the original quiestion, you have to say Denver. they improved to a playoff team once they signed him, and he has established himself as the best CB in the game. Portis has had his up and downs, with a great 2005 season, but the Skins keep stinking it up. plus his injury last year didnt help

i still think they need a playmaking receiver of some sort to get where they need to go. LoNeal is getting older and they lost Donnie Edwards on defense. him and Merriman were the two big playmakers on D

Rivers is leagues above him and always has been. Compare their college careers too if you wish. I have to question anyone who has a hard-on for Eli Manning.

LoNeal is getting older and they lost Donnie Edwards on defense. him and Merriman were the two big playmakers on DVincent Jackson and Malcom Floyd will surprise a lot of people this year, look for breakout seasons from both. Craig Davis will allow the Chargers to spread the field as well. LoNeal is old, but still dominant. Donnie Edwards was great in coverage, and that was it. He is replaced easily with the plethora of linebackers the Chargers have compiled. If the Chargers don't make the Superbowl this year, I'll be baffled.

http://assets.espn.go.com/photo/2007/0615/nfl_u_eli_195.jpgOne of the things that drives Giants fans nuts about Eli Manning is that he always seems on the verge of offering someone an apology. And during an exclusive interview with Hashmarks, Giants general manager Jerry Reese said it's something the Giants have talked to Manning about this offseason.

"Guys have to be themselves," said Reese, "but we've talked to him about that hang dog look. It's not a good profile and it's exaggerated by this market. Just like the cameras are always going to find Tom when he has some kind of sideline antic, everyone's looking at Eli. He sort of views himself as a silent assassin, and he'd rather his teammates get the credit. But I think you'll see a little different demeanor from him this season."

Listening to Reese, who comes across as almost shockingly unassuming, lets you know how this is truly a make-or-break season for Manning. He seems to play his best in two-minute situations, when he has to rely on his instincts. I watched him make some great throws today, but I've just never sensed that he's the type of person capable of inspiring confidence in his teammates. You don't have to be a rah-rah guy to command respect.

But it scares me when I start hearing people talk about changing a guy's demeanor.
