What are your opinions? Give like 5 of your favorite spurs games of all time (win or loss AND not necessarily the championship clincher)
5. 1995 Game 3 WCF vs. Houston (fell down 0-2 and came back to win this game plus Game 4 in a blowout.)
4. 1998 Games 1 & 2 WCSF vs. Utah (Duncan's coming out party I thought in the playoffs. Although Spurs lost both of those extremely close games in Utah, Spurs were on their way to something special. In the interview afterwards, Malone was surprised at how well the Spurs played.)
3. 1999 Game 2 WCF "Memorial Day Miracle" vs. Portland Jailblazers
2. 1990 Game 5 WCSF vs. Portland Trailblazers (Drexler went nuts for 48 I believe and the Spurs should have won the game in overtime, but Portland prevailed. What a special series that was...)
1. 1987 SA vs. Chicago...I remember it was the weekend that Tim Brown won the Heisman and my father and brother took me to my very first Spurs game. Kurt Nimphius had an awesome dunk on the Bulls and the Spurs pulled it out 110-101.

All time favorite? Beyond the obvious title years, and I wouldn't call it a favorite, but Admiral's first year against the Trailblazers is a series that still haunts me. I think if we would've prevailed we could have handled the Bulls and history would've been a lot different.
5. Game one, Spurs at Portland, 1993 first round. Many of the players from the great 1990 series were still in place for both teams. Portland had a lead and played sharper most of the contest, but the Spurs hung around and hung around and gritted out a tough road win. I thought of this game after the way game five versus Phoenix played out.
4. Jan. 20 (21?), 2005, Spurs at Phoenix. Fantastic regular season game that went into overtime; Manu scored 48 points on a ridiculously low number of shots. Most of those 48 were of the "OMG WTF was that??" variety.
3. Game six, Spurs at Lakers, 2003 round two. Tim Duncan put on his red cape and led the men into Staples to a dethrone-the-threepeat-bastards victory. Most of his thirty-seven came in the first three quarters; in the fourth, the rest of the team smelled the blood in the water and swarmed for a 110-82 beatdown. Kevin Willis' putback dunk at the 6:00 mark of the 4th, giving the Spurs a 20 point lead, was the cherry on that sundae. Ah, so good.
2. Game five, Spurs at Detroit, 2005 NBA Finals. After two bad bitch-slappings at the Palace, the Spurs made their stand. Timmy settled things down in his return to form, and starting toward the end of the third quarter, Big Shot Rob turned back the clock and looked like a Larry Bird/Scottie Pippen hybrid - hitting threes and soaring above the rim with that amazing left-handed and-1 jam in overtime. Then, Rasheed Wallace left him alone at the end of OT, and that was BSR needed to make one of his trademark big shots. Tony Parker's hard-ass defense against Rip Hamilton on the last possession may go forgotten in the wake of BSR's heroics, but I won't forget it. The Spurs still needed to make a stop with six seconds left, and Parker was all over Rip in that final play.
1. Game two, Spurs versus Portland, 1999 Western Conference Finals. The game that ended one Spurs legacy and started another one. I can't think about this game or Elliott's shot without getting at least a little emotional. Pop talks about playing 48 minutes - this game was the ultimate example of playing for 48 minutes. You have to have a champion's poise to come back in a game like that, and the Spurs showed that they were not only the best team in 1999, but that they were the toughest team. So when the playoff losses of 2001 and 2002 happened, I was understandably unhappy, but I had faith. I knew this wouldn't persist with Pop and Timmy around.

The whole Phoenix-Spurs series in 05 was a great series, but I think it was game 5 that was particularly good. (Whichever game is the one where Tim got kicked in the nuts. :lol Sorry, but he was awesome that game).
Game 7 of the 05 finals was just all-around an amazing game to watch.
I can't really pick out anymore beyond those.

I agree with the 1-3. I have to put game 6 of the 03 playoffs up there. Tim's near quadruple double was an historic performance and really amazed me.
Also, Tim's play supplemented by Manu's play from the middle of the third to the end of the game in game 7 of 05 Finals against the Pistons was remarkable.

Game 3 against the Suns in 05 and game 2 against the Nuggets were brutal and particularly fun to watch.
I love it when the Spurs blow out opponents, easier on my nerves.
Also, game 6 against the Sonics where Tim made that last second shot to win the series in Seattle, in a place they cheered because Tim was injured.
There was one Spurs fan in Seattle who was shown on tv celebrating after Tim's shot.
That was fantastic.

Spurs - Nets, 2003, game 6 of the NBA finals
Perhapse there was not as much actions, like if you would play against the Suns, but it was a grat game to watch. Spurs were down until the 4th quarter and then they made the 19 - 0 run. I remember that 3 3-pointers by S-Jax. It was just superb. Then it was the last game of David Robisnon who played great all series long. Duncan almoust had a quadruple double. I was so happy when Spurs' ve got their second NBA championship.
My favorite game of all time has to be Game 7 of the 2005 Finals. I just finished my first year of college and my dad got me a single ticket for my birthday, which was the day after the game. I had one of the worst seats in the arena but I didn't care. By the end of the game I had lost my voice and my arms were so sore from banging those inflatable sticks. It hurt to drive home. But the game was awesome... tied going into the 4th quarter, so for both teams, the season was about who could play the best for 12 minutes. Seeing the Spurs play great ball to win their third title was just amazing. Best day of my life for sure, apologies to my future wife and children in advance.
Then waiting in line with my best friend after the game at Academy to get the hat and shirt since lines were long and slow at the SBC, and then going to the river parade a few days later. It was the best summer/birthday experience ever.
The other four I really have no order of preference but,
2. Memorial Day Miracle '99 - I don't know where we would be without that shot. Maybe only two titles. Who knows. I was suprised when they asked Steve Nash what his top 5 favorite clutch shots were during the first round and this was one of them. It had that kind of impact. I don't think people will ever stop talking about this, I know I won't. Aside from actually winning the title in '99 and not counting Game 7 of 2005 because I have a personal attachment to that game, I would say the MDM game is the singlemost important game in Spurs franchise playoff history.
3. Game 6 vs Lakers 2003 Semis - Kobe crying, ending the 3-peat LA dynasty. It was a perfect moment.
4. Game 6 2003 NBA Finals - Great game to watch, monster game by Duncan. David goes out on top. The pic of David and Tim holding the trophies together is the greatest fucking image in pro sporting history.
5. The last one is a regular season game from 92 or 93 when the Spurs beat Bulls at home by like six or seven. It was close, and the only time I got to see Jordan play in person. One of the first Spurs games I went to, as well, so I have a personal attachment to this game.

Actually we would have played the Pistons in the 1990 Finals.

3. Spurs Vs Lakers Game 6 03 semis- The Lakers crying was classic

My all time favorites:
1. 1999 WCF - Game 2 - v. Portland - "Memorial Day Miracle"
2. 2003 Semis - Game 6 - v. Lakers - "Kobe & Fisher Crying"
3. 2005 Finals - Game 5 - v. Detroit - "Big Shot Bob"
4. 2003 Finals - Game 6 - v. Nets - Big Dave going out on top
5. 2003 WCF - Game 6 - v. Mavericks - "Kerr's 3-pt Daggers"
As much as I loved the "Portland - SA" Series back in the early DRob days, it's hard for me to rank them up there when we didn't break through. Rod Strickland's no look pass to Sean Elliott still haunts me.

1999 NBA Finals - Game 5 - the Spurs defeat the Knicks, 78-77, to win their first title...
The Spurs had the "Twin Towers" of Robinson and Duncan. Ewing was hurt, but Sprewell put up 35 points and had 10 boards in that game. Avery Johnson put the Spurs ahead 78-77...but Sprewell had the ball at the very end and almost hit the game winner for the Knicks, but came up just short and time ran out. The Spurs clinched their first NBA Championship. It is still my favorite game in Spurs history. :toast

hard to pick only five but i will try
5) Manu going nuts in the regular season game vs. Phoenix in 2005 when he had 48 points.
4) 2005 semis Game 6 vs. Seattle when Manu found Tim on the low block to lay it in at the last second and clinch the series. That was a great series, having lived in Seattle for a few years it was great to watch the Spurs beat them. I never liked the Sonics. Seattle was REALLY playing dirty, they werent even trying to hide it most of the time, and Ray Allen was unconcious for a couple games, but to no avail.
3) Spurs vs. Phoenix 2007 semis game 5. I know all the talk surrounding this game was the fact that Diaw and Stoudemire were suspended, but frankly I'm tired of hearing it. They broke the rule and paid the price, and to watch the Spurs go into that super hostile arena against a fired up suns team and take care of business was something special.
2) Game 5 vs. Pistons 2005 Finals--neck and neck game the whole way. I know a lot of casual fans hate watching the Spurs play the Pistons but this was one of the greatest finals match-ups since the lakers/celtics duels of the 80s in my opinion, and hopefully we are about to see the rematch
1) Game 7 vs. Pistons 2005 finals-- coming from behind 8 in the 3rd quarter against the vaunted Pistons defense in the last possible basketball game of the year to win the NBA title. pretty cool stuff.

The main reason this is my favorite game of all time is because I was actually in attendance. It was my second game ever to go to and my first at the SBC Center. I drank 7 beers that night and had the perfect buzz going to cheer as Stephen Jackson hit the 3 to take the lead for good. Also, seeing the last game Robinson ever played and one of Duncan's greatest games ever made it that much more special.

My favorite two are games that the Spurs were not supposed to win:
1. 2005 Double overtime thriller at Golden State without Tim, Manu or Rasho, all out with injuries. Spurs win thanks to Tony Parker out-dueling Baron Davis. This was all the more stunning given the fact that it was the night after....
2. 2005 Double overtime thriller at the LA Clippers with Tim and Manu out. Rasho rolled his ankle in this game, and as he was perhaps the most "serviceable" center in Spurs history (right above Schintzius), the Spurs had big shoes to fill in the front court. Ahem.
Those two nights completely galvanized the team and really helped give the team a new level of confidence. In my opinion, they were instrumental in the championship run.
I'm aware that naming these two games is insane, and I think I need counseling. The fact is though I've seen a ton of Spurs games starting in 1976 at the age of 10, and I cannot think of two more exhilarating wins made all the more stunning by the overwhelming odds against the Spurs.

I cant name five, but I can tell you that the Memorial Day miracle is my personal favorite. I can remember thinking to myself as Sean hit the shot that the Spurs never had the kind of luck that other teams did in those situations. That luck had finally arrived in SA.
IMO that day was the first day in the current Spurs dynasty.
