Other than the eventual series wins/losses, did that series occur under similar circumstances? The Spurs wins over the Jazz have been so convincing and dominating. Don't you agree?

Tony can shoot now. Manu shoots better, and instead of Hedon't, we have Barry and Findog.

but look who's back.....Fisher...and keep in mind he only needs .4 seconds to change a series (if it's even possible to get a shot off in .4 seconds)

I'll never forget when the Spurs were behind in Game 6 of the 2003 Finals, it was dead quiet in the arena and a guy would say loudly "Remember the Lakers!"

Nothing to do w/ the post but that's what it reminded me of

no, if memory serves, we blew out the lakers both games and tony started off tremendously. granted, boozer/williams are not shaq/kobe but that said, anything's possible.

Seriously the Lakers were a title tested squad these guys have never been this far before and have plenty of holes in their team.

Big difference! Those Lakers had rings and experience. Not to mention Shaq ,Kobe etc. These Spurs have the rings and experience not to mention Duncan , Manu , Parker etc. Guys who have been to hell and back! I expect closer games in Utah but the Spurs should be able to win atleast 1 over there. That's all they need! But having that '04 series in the back of your mind is what keeps Spurs fans humble.

Most teams take several tries to knock the bully out, and the Lakers were still our big brother at that time. Similiar to Bulls/Pistons, Lakers/Celtics, Shaq Lakers/Jazz, Spurs/Phoenix. I don't think the Jazz are at the point of being a true contender; it should take them a few years to actually be competitive with us, the Suns, or the Mavs.

A closer analogy would be if the Jazz had won the first 2 against us really.

Spurs were killing the Lakers in the first two games. Then we started roughing up Tony Parker and he ended up disappearing.

Yeah and that was 3 years ago Tony is so much better now it is scary. You can rough him up all you want now he keeps coming and his jumper is very consistant from 15-20 ft it never was back in 2004.

I agree Tony is a much better player now. He was a damn good one back then too. That's why I used to laugh so hard when all of the posters here were calling for his head back in January/February.

You guys played him well after games 1 and 2. Tony needed to live in the lane back then and if you could keep him out he was very ineffective. Plus Malone played Duncan pretty good and we really played bad in game 5. Fisher hit his miracle shot but so did Tim, they both probably miss those shots 9 times out of 10.

We have a much deeper bench. And Okur is no Shaq

Remember the Alamo? Remember Vietnam? Remember the Challenger? Remember Rosanne Barr?

The Jazz are finished as far as winning this series goes.
