So the Spurs can beat them down again.

That is so sweet, I am really happy for the Blazers. They deserve it since they didn't freaking tank, and I daresay the great NW is gonna be home to a pretty good set of teams for at least next year. (Seattle's move is going to suck for me)

So there's absolutley no hope for the Sonics to stay in Seattle after all?

Maybe not as good, but knowing they have a franchise center for the next 10 to 15 years is probably the next best thing. As NBA cities go, it doesn't suck to be Portland right now. They will be very good- and soon.

the only thing idiotic about the video is the fatty who said, "we've been telling you all along we're headed it in the right direction. we weren't lying, we are headed in the right direction."

one question, fat ass? so you knew portland would end up with a top two pick, let alone the first one?

other than that idiot the video is great, i love seeing excitement like that. congrats...

This video is awesome. That's how I felt when we won the lottery back in '97 or whatever it was and got Tim Duncan. I was jumping up and down and felt exactly like those people.

I heard that the Blazers sold a shitload of season tickets after they won the 1st pick.

I'm excited for the Blazers. I'll actually be able to go to a Blazers/Spurs game in Portland and see a competitive game for the 1st time in years!

And it will be nice to have a decent home team again.

Here's to many exciting playoff series between the Spurs and the Blazers in the years to come.

Not absolutely no hope, but I'd give it about an 87% chance they are gone.

Yeah, me too.

Funny thing was that '96-7 was such a horrible season, and on the day of the draft I just had a feeling that, even though we were the 5th worst team in the league, we would win the draft... felt it in ma bones!

Anyone have footage like that from 97 in SA? Definitely youtube it!

What a bunch of losers. I can't help but think that whoever gets drafted by Portland first is cursed (kinda like the Jermaine ONeal experience). Maybe they ought to trade down for established talent.

The sad thing is, that's the loudest cheer I've heard for Portland ever since that last big run in the playoffs in 2000.

And yes, the two games this year between Portland and San Antonio in Portland were very competitive. Portland did beat San Antonio two years ago when they shot over 50% for the game.
