Why don't you wish injury on him. Oh wait, you already did.

So not only that, you are going to be rooting for the Spurs to lose or for Finley to get injured.

You've somehow managed to find a rung below that of Mav Fan.

Congrats.

Today Finley played limited minutes and the Spurs were blown out.

Don't bring logic into this.

The Spurs are 9-0 in their last nine playoff games when Barry plays 13 or fewer minutes. But here's whottt hoping injury on Finley so that Barry can play.

New low.

A) whottt reneges on all title bets. Might as well make the bet for a million dollars.

B) whottt fails to give his take on why Finley leads the Spurs in +/- in the playoffs or why the Spurs are 9-0 when Barry plays less than 13 minutes in a playoff game.

C) Wishing injury on a player like whottt wished on Finley in the other thread is an offense that should strip one of their Spurs fandom certificate.

We haven't won a a title yet either. I already know we can win a title with Horry, Manu, Barry, Parker, Bowen, and Duncan...

What changed?

WAs a pretty fundamental change........altering a championship chemistry...I save the ball movement changed.

You obviously don't understand championship basketball.

Championship basketball = do a weak dribble move after getting a rebound, get it stolen and let them hit a wide open three.

while watching the game i was praying for TP to limit his lay ups and think of the players wating at the wings, Finley esp...

with Duncan out and TP being knocked out several times inside Finley could have helped Manu won us that game but he was given less minutes. :depressed

this cannot be a serious thread...finley is better than 5 fucking brent barry's. when the stakes are high, barry dirks big time. some can handle the pressure and some can't. barry can't. finley brings it when he's on the court and doesn't play scared. how many airballs did the 3 point specialist barry throw up last night...he was dirking big time.

1) Finley is a better rebounder than Barry
2) Finley is a vastly superior defender than Barry
3) Finley is shooting something like 47% from 3 point land in the playoffs this postseason
4) Finley is more consistent than Barry

Yes, Barry knows how to pass better than Finley, but Barry's passing ability is highly overrated at times by Spurs fans. He'll have maybe one or two really great assists in a game, but other than that his passing is just a general play within the Spurs system. Also notable is that Barry also makes some disgusting passes as well...see turnover which led to Jazz 3 pointer from a Barry rebound for further proof.

Whott is probably right in that if Barry ever manages to bring is A game, the Spurs would virtually be unbeatable. Problem is, he doesn't do it consistently enough or in big time games to get it done. And please Whott, dont give me stats or random playoff games where Barry showed up...I'm talking about bringing something to the table every night. Barry needs to produce offensively in order to warrant playing time. His defense is that much of a burden to the Spurs. So when his offense isn't working, it doesn't make much sense to play him.

I don't even understand what you're basing your bet on....:wtf

whottt, you've practically revealed yourself to be an ignorant dumbass who argues based on personal whims and opinions rather than by facts and statistics. Yeah, Finley sucks and the Spurs don't need him-screw his 47% three point shooting, his 14 ppg, screw him for not being a liability on defense, screw him for having intensity and heart, and screw him for coming through on the road. Let's reward Barry for missing open three pointers, for playing like a puss on the road, and for getting owned defensively. Makes perfect sense.

Fin should get what he got during the regular season. Is that "major"? Barry and fin should be getting minutes determined by how well they are playing. If Barry is doing well, he should split the minutes.

If fin's back is hurt, Barry better step up. If he doesn't and Fin can't produce because of injury, we are screwed.

If Fin DOESN"T get the minutes he was getting during the end of the season, it is because of injury. If Fin is in fact significantly injured with his back, and limited in his production, with the caveat that Oberto is also a crucial part of this title run, I don't think Barry can make up the difference and we go down it he playoffs.

Fin has been more important to this team's success since the all-star break than Barry can hope to make up for.

GrandeDavid
05-27-2007, 06:12 PM
What a stupid thread. Sorry, but this is freaking idiotic. Fin has been doing a good job overall. I think his back was sore yesterday. Give him a damn break! Fin wants this championship as bad as anyone, and when he's hitting late shots tomorrow and in Game 5, you'll be back on tip. :rolleyes

Lots of choker lovers in this thread....

Brent Barry is so much more of a superior offensive player than Finley it's not even funny.

And I completely and thoroughly question the basketball IQ of any one that disagrees with that statement.

Brent Barry played about 1 less minute per game than Finley this season he scored a half a point less...

But he took 3 fucking fewer shots per game to get it.

Finley had the lowest PPS on the team this season out of the regular rotation...Barry lead the team in it.

He also lead the team in adjusted FG% with a staggering total.

He gets more assists, he gets to the FT line more.

He shot better from fucking 3 than Finley shot from 2.

That's fucking sick.

What happened at the end of the season...

Did Barry start sucking...or did he get hurt?

His minutes got cut by 10 per game because he got injured and fucking Finley got back into the rotation justi n time to choke us in the playoffs.

What happened in 05?

Hmm...

And how does Finley play in 10 mins a game anyway? He sucks worse than Barry...as evidencd by this season.

He'll choke us in the playoffs...

And it will happen.

Just remember...when Finley is taking those shots and they aren't going in...and don't even fucking act like Barry goes 1-6 from 3 every game. That's probably his record as a Spur. That's a typical first 7 shots for Finley.

Remember that as those 3 extra shots turn into rebounds for the Jazz........and Pistons.....or Cavs.

Did you just dedicate 500 words talking about the regular season? :lmao

Since when do regular season numbers matter to the Spurs?

And you whining about losing a spot due to injury is classic since that's how Barry got any playing time in '05.

So basically whottt has spent his time in the playoffs defending Barry, Vaughn and Elson. Perhaps if you would stop making excuses for that trio, one of them might actually earn their roster spot.

So far in this series when Fin plays more than 17 minutes SA is 3-0, when he plays less than 17 minutes they are 0-1. Not saying he is the sole reason they won those games and lost that one, just sayin he is a big componant to this years Spurs playoff team. When he is healthy and on the floor it is good for the Spurs offense.

PS- They NEED to use Barry as a backup PG. Give him ALL of JVs minutes and space the floor so they cant double Duncan as easily!!!!

Brent Barry asked Pop to hold him out of the lineup in game 4 and give his minutes to Finley, being the unselfish team player that he is...he wants Finley to have the experience of being an important part of a championship team...something he himself has already experienced. It's things like this that make Barry a great teamate...

I think the fact that the team was relying on him so much was also worrisome to him, and figured maybe taking on a reduced role would force the other players to step up and forge a cohesive team.

As usual...Barry was right.

Barry will never admit this publicly...but obviously, it's what happened...

Figure it out.

I think Brent just believe I'm the superior poster to you.

titles with finley = 0

Chokes with Finley being...whatever the fuck he is...main bench starter = 1

Between Barry and Finley i would take Finley. But when the Bright lights of the Finals shine on him don't expect much.

Consider he is shooting about 43% for the playoffs. Not too bad. But only 40% against the Jazz, the best defensive team you have faced in the Playoffs. His minutes are coming down and so is his FG %.

What would Finley shoot against the Pistons or Cavs? 38-39%

He is terrific from the line but he does not get there much. He's good from wide open 3 pt land but he's not going to be that open against the Pistons or proabably the Cavs.

Again, my advice is not to rely on him for anything. So if he tosses in 10 pts. in 20 minutes then that's great! But if he scores 6 and has 4 turnovers don't be surprised.

Findog is a fluke player playing fluke games. All the shots he hits are flukes. The only time he does anything on the floor is when he is being bailed out the refs.

The Spurs aren't winning because of Finley. They are just winning games they are supposed to win.

Brent Barry is the best shooting guard in the history of the Spurs. Anyone who says otherwise is a hater who is an idiot who doesn't know anything about basketball.

Finley had a bad game tonight he was 1-7 so Pop did the right thing and pulled the plug on him. Hopefully he will have a better game on Sunday.

Not true, chokers and non-chokers have been known to form lasting and enduring friendships.

And the evil of Finley is that he chokes in a very subtle way.

It's like AJ and Mario Elie being friends...did the fact that they were friends mean AJ could knock down a shot under pressure to save his life?

And no...being up 3-1 against an 8 seed with a minute left is not pressure. Finley could do that.....

Come to think of it...Horry is probably friends with AJ too.
