The time has come to exorcise the demons that haunt the Spurs in the playoffs against the Jazz in Salt Lake City. The Spurs have never won a game in Utah during the playoffs. Never.
The situation has always been the same. The Jazz beat up the Spurs' bigman by clobbering him whenever possible. When they aren't clobbering him, they are slapping down on the ball. When they aren't slapping down on the ball, they are jumping into him trying to get him in foul trouble.
From David Robinson to Tim Duncan, it's been the same crap. Beat up the bigman, clog the lane and just beat you up whenever you have the audacity to drive the ball to the basket. If the refs dare call a foul, the Jazz fans act dumbfounded as if the refs had just blown the biggest call in the history of sport. So far, the Spurs have never been able to overcome these circumstances.
New Age Spurs fans might only know Salt Lake City as that cold place the Spurs play two times a year during the regular season, but this has been the long standing battleground of the Spurs' most demoralizing defeats. In Game 3, it was different vocalists singing the same song with the same producer leading the mentality on the bench.
The time has come to end this crap and have Utah singing a different tune when the final buzzer sounds. David Robinson poured his soul into getting it done but he didn't have the right weaponry.
Now the Spurs have the weapons. They can exorcise the demons that still haunt even after three NBA championships. It's time to get Game 4 and get the revenge that has been more than 13 years in the making.
Win it for freedom. Win it for David.
