What Jackson fails to understand is that, although he's a great mid-range scorer, he's also getting brutal picks opening up everything for him. He's not doing it all alone.

But Mark Jackson has never played basketball before. At least I don't think so, way he sounds.

Man, Tim Duncan has to wake up. I acknowledge the fact that he had some good shots in that first half, but he's getting stripped a whole fucking lot. It's like he has no awareness of the fact that Utah is actually trying to steal it from him, because that's what defenses do. Don't be suprised at the outcome when you're holding the ball too long when you're being triple-teamed.

At least the Spurs are up 8. I hope they maintain a comfortable lead and then apply some pressure in the 4th quarter to win the game.

Agreed. They were 10-15 at one point, so the Spurs held them to 2-5 from that point. Mostly, they started bringing a double on Boozer at the catch (with Bowen) and they seem to be disrupting some of Boozer's rhythm with that choice.

It's almost surprising to be at 50 pts for the half. The three point shot hasn't fallen and the big three is shooting 41% fg. The diference is the +7 edge on rebouding and better defense. The 7 turnovers still worry me. As long as the scrubs for Utah don't get theirs, we can withstand mini runs by Utah. Someone for the spurs will need to catch fire to open the game more to open shots from 3333333333.

+8 pts at the half is solid.

That's called being ignorant and classless. You don't boo a player that has nothing to do with how the refs are calling the game or how the Jazz are performing. The Spurs have given the Jazz nothing but respect this series and the fans respond with this shit? Please, they aren't awesome they are classless.

Anyway, I'm glad that we are up but we must have a just as good or even better second half. Doing well in the first half has been the story of every game this series; the second half has oddly given us trouble. I want to see just as good of effort in the second half. Tighten up the D. If we stop Boozer or Williams, we will win. We have shut down everyone else. Continue to rebound, drive the lane and be just as physical/agressive. HIT THE OUTSIDE SHOTS, dammit.

When it comes to cheering at a game, fuck class. Your job as a fan is to give your team the best chances of winning, and that is by being loud, obnoxious, and constantly pissing off the other team. Not by sitting back in your chair, clapping occasionally, exposing your vagina to the other team.

Thoughts:

-Duncan still getting beat up but he's made some good moves. He's playing tough and is still trying to figure out the defense. Duncan playing this hard is something I'll take every game.

-Parker shot a couple shots he shouldn't but with the way the Jazz are hacking, he's doing the smart and courageous thing of taking the ball to the basket. He's going to get knocked to the ground almost every time. If the Jazz aren't going to send help from the corners, no reason he should pass on the pick and rolls. Just keep attacking and make them keep hammering Parker and live at the line.

-Manu doing the little things well. He needs to start driving more though. The Jazz have been instructed to foul and foul hard. He'll too could live at the line if he starts relentlessly driving.

-Williams is just on fire. He's hitting shots he's never hit in his life. But as long as the Spurs don't let him create for others too much, they can live with him going for 35.

-Boozer is on fire, too. He's hitting fall back jumpers over an extended Duncan. How many players have you ever seen who've hit that shot against Duncan consistently?

-Overall can't fault the defense too much. Williams and Boozer are on fire.

-Offensively if the Spurs guards keep driving the lane and Duncan keeps posting deep, eventually they'll have to start sending help. At that point, the three-point shooters will have to step up.

The bottomline is the second half is going to be huge. The Spurs haven't outplayed the Jazz at all so far in a game in the second half. Each of the first three games this has been where the Jazz played well.

Time to change that by keeping up the aggression and energy. Stay out of foul trouble. Stay healthy.

And get this game.

Keys to the second half;

1. Stay out of foul trouble (Oberto, Duncan, Bowen, Parker)

2. Their arena is stunningly loud. I can see why they are undefeated at home in the playoffs.

3. The Spurs are not in foul trouble like they were in Game 3. That may just be the difference tonight.
