Butch Davis is going to be the next coach of Florida...that is a no brainer.

He is the perfect fit for Florida and he does have a history of ressurecting a previous Florida school's football program.

Willingham sucks and ND is the most overrated football program in the country. They get their own station in NBC, have their own conference, and they win like 3-4 games a year.

Exactly what I'm saying...you don't see the Longhorns getting NBC contracts and they usually have better records and higher rankings than ND.

Ty is getting screwed becuase the brass at ND want Urban Meyer. The Irish want to make sure he doesn't go to UF. He has a out in his deal with Utah if he's offered a job in South Bend.

Ty got screwed. He deserved at least one more year. Didn't Bob Davie have longer tenure witht he Touchdown Jesii?

no shit...the guys from his first year recruiting class are just now getting to be upperclassmen...he might not have been all that but he should have at least been given 5 years so he could coach the players he recruited...

If they want Urban Meyer, they had top jump on him now, otherwise he would be at Florida. This makes perfect sense to me.

It's obvious they have someone they want and they had to move now.

Ty was barely above .500 at Stanford, and he went from a competitive Pac-10 to a joke of a schedule at ND and couldn't win. He had his best season with Davie's recruits.

If he's that good a coach, he'll end up somewhere else.

Willingham was 44-36-1 at Stanford. Notre Dame plays USC Michigan Purdue every year, they always seem to have someone like Tenn or FSU on the schedule too. Its not like they have too many patsies like an A&M on the schedule they can count on for a sure win every year.

Hey Dickhead Ice, as a matter of fact, A&M had a 2 yr home and home deal all signed and sealed with ND starting next year, but ND backed out last Summer, and A&M had to replace ND on their 2005 and 06 schedule.

Just wondering!! When ND hired Willingham, it was big news. Why? Was it b/c of his record at Stanford? Being 44-36-1 isn't going to scare anyone. Ooorrrrr, was it b/c he's.....(whispering!)....black? Hmmm! Just wondering!!

It was big news because O'Leary got canned for lying on his resume, and he was the only coach with mutual interest left on the short list. A lot of people thought Ty should have been ND's first pick due to his track record at Stanford which has similar academic stringency. The black thing was also a big deal since he was the first black head coach at any sport at ND.

O'Leary might have lied on his resume, but UTEP has a better record than ND this year.
