UFC 72 countdown follows up later that night.

[djohn14]

What date is this? Also, Stout and Fisher should be a great fight. I also expect the Fitch and Carneiro to be a good one, with Roan coming out on top.

[dallaskd]

Tuesday, June 12 @ 9:00 ET. Live on SPIKE TV.

[dallaskd]

predictions?

[LEONARD]

I hadn't really thought about these much since there are 2 more cards between now and then...

UFC FIGHT NIGHT 10: JUNE 12, 2007 IN FLORIDA
venue: Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Florida

Main Card Bouts:
-Spencer Fisher vs. Sam Stout
-Jon Fitch (#8 WW) vs. Roan Carneiro
-Drew McFedries vs. Jordan Radev

Preliminary Bouts:
-Jason Black vs. Thiago Tavares
-Luigi Fioravanti vs. Forrest Petz
-Nate Mohr vs. Luke Caudillo
-Pete Spratt vs. Tamdan McCrory
-Chad Reiner vs. Steve Bruno

[dallaskd]

If Fitch wins, he might fight Franklin/Okami for a shot at Silva/Marquardt.

[LEONARD]

If Fitch wins, he might fight Franklin/Okami for a shot at Silva/Marquardt.

Doubtful since Fitch is a 170 lb'r... ;)

The winner of Franklin - Okami gets the winner of Silva - Nate...

[dallaskd]

Then why is he the #8 MW?

[LEONARD]

Then why is he the #8 MW?

Look again...he's the #8 WW...

WELTERWEIGHT DIVISION (170-pound limit)

#1 Welterweight Fighter in the World: Matt Serra

2. Georges St. Pierre

3. Matt Hughes

4. Josh Koscheck

5. Karo Parisyan

6. BJ Penn

7. Diego Sanchez

8. Jon Fitch

9. Jake Shields

10. Akira Kikuchi

[dallaskd]

hah gotcha

[LEONARD]

Most under-rated WW in the UFC...I hope he tears it up in his next fight since he's FINALLY getting air'd. They've shit on him long enough...

[LEONARD]

Airing at the same time as game 3 of the finals...

Who knows...maybe even this fairly weak UFN card can get better ratings than game 3?? ;) (kidding, it certainly won't)

[Evan]

Its going to be a good free fight.

The UFC 72 preview airs after the card tonight. UFC 72 will be a 2 pm PPV...

[Evan]

Yeah. Looks like I am rolling solo on this one. I will be on aol chatting with a buddy in NJ while watching it. Sucks, none of my buddy's local like mma or soccer very much.

Cry me a river right? hah

[Evan]

Awesome fights. I am recording on DVD once its over.

[LEONARD]

Damn, hell of a night of free fights!! 5 fights for a change... :fro

Stout can take a beating...kinda cool that Fisher was so humble thinking it was a draw. Not even close to a draw (obviously)...

Glad for Fitch to get a big win...that choke was pretty close though.

and I think there might be something to Anthony Johnson...6'2" 170 lbs and really well put together. Long reach. Have to keep an eye on him for sure. Tavares too...Jason Black is no joke...

WTF was the ref doing in the McFedries fight? I hate to see a couple of unneccessary blows like that...

That was one of the, if not THE, best Spike cards yet...right up there with the Diego/Karo card... :fro

[desflood]

Agreed. Great fights, especially Fisher/Stout. And McFedries hits like a truck!

[LEONARD]

Agreed. Great fights, especially Fisher/Stout. And McFedries hits like a truck!

He does hit hard...but Kampmann choking him out was greatness :fro

[Evan]

Which is another reason why people need to give UFC 72 a shot.

[LEONARD]

I'll watch...no doubt. But not for $40 :fro

[IX_Equilibrium]

I hope to see Fisher/Stout III on a PPV card.

[Evan]

Kid almost took and Evan Tanner like beating from Tanner Vs Franklin II.

[dallaskd]

those were some badass fights. lots of good ko's too.
