You know David Robinson is snortin the coke off hooker's asses right now.

Sean elliott is dying laughing.

Don't think Avery Johnson isn't dancing a jig.

Different teams, different players, not the same. If the Spurs didn't come out of here with at least one that would have been a dissapointment.

I'm over it... we won game 6 against a 3 time champ on their home floor since then to knock them out of the playoffs...

We won game 5 in Detroit...

I could care less about beating a second round opponent attending the Western Conference finals on the Dallas Mavericks Scholarship fund.

For Spurs fans who weren't around 13 years ago, this thread isn't for you. You don't know what it was like to watch massacre after massacre at the hands of Sloan and the Utah crowd.

F Stockton and Malone. They were system players in Sloan's offense. Williams and Boozer fit the same way. And the difference is Boozer isn't a choker.

A fucking men.

This win, tonight, is a payback for all the Malone elbows.

All the stockton punches to the stomach.

All the Jeff Hornacek leg sweeps at others feet.

All the goons beating the shit out of david Robinson and Sean elliott.

The fact that we couldnt get past that team was more of a testament to the team we had than the team they did then...

I was around for all those games... I hated the Jazz... but 10 years of Duncan beating the SHIT out of them kind of dulled the hurt...

We had scoreboard on them a LONG time ago...

One more win then I can worry about the next challenge...

The one that will make ALL the asterisk talk go away... because there is one team left in the playoffs that would wipe their ass with Phoenix... and they are BORED with how easy it has been for thim so far.

Before the series and even today I downplayed the rivalry, instead choosing to embrace the 3 championships to Utah's 0, as well as the 18 game Spurs win streak until a couple years ago. But as this game wore on, it all came back. I'm damn proud of this team.

I was living in the Netherlands back from 1996-1998, and I remember following the playoff series against Utah in 98 on the internet and getting pissed off at all the Jazz smack. It feels like it was just yesterday now.

Great job tonight by the Spurs.

Somewhere, David Robinson is smiling ;)

But IMO, this team is not as tough as the Stockton Malone Jazz...Yet.

And Boozer probably isn't a choker....but he's also doesn't have the elbow and the kick...and Deron Williams isn't dirty, at all, and John Stockton was.

Stockton and Malone had been playing together for almost 10 years the first time they played the Spurs in hte playoffs.

Still...I'll take it.

I dunno, man. It's nice, but I wanted it to come against Karl. Wipe that look off his dirty nasty mug.

I'll take it, but bleh. I don't harbor the same resentment for this team that I did for the Mailstock Jazz.

I still remember a decisive game in SLC during the 1999 regular season. Timmy played an absolutely magnificent game that night and the Spurs blew the Jazz out late. After years of nothing but frustration with every trip to SLC, it was such a sweet win and it was the first time after 1995 -- after I learned something about the late rounds of the NBA playoffs -- that I allowed myself to believe that the Spurs had what it took to win a title.

That 1999 title has only one bittersweet point to it -- the fact that the Spurs didn't get a chance to beat down the Jazz; I still think that team deserved the opportunity to beat Utah in a playoff series.

I suppose I'll take this win as a substitute for that.

Damn right. This was a tough win, too. The Spurs had every excuse to pack it in and start talking about how they only have to defend home court. Instead they stayed focused and broke the Jass' hearts. It's nice to be on the giving end and not the receiving end.

What a freaking win. Wins over the Jizz are always the sweetest. Wins over LA, Phoenix, and Dallas are nice, but nothing beats walking into Utah and destroying them in the fourth.

This win was for my old little tv that bit wall after watching the Spurs melt into bitches against the old Jazz in the PO. Watching Sloan and Fisher turn into little whiny bitches and cry in SLC as Manu rammed it up their ass was about as satisfying as it gets in the WCF.

Man Hornacek got on my last nerves.

So, did that punk Adam Keif, and Jeff Foster too.....all they did was root on the bench.

I was just a young teenager, but to me it felt like those were the years the Spurs had awesome shot's at the title, and Malone and Stockton just handed it to us....

But, thats what you have to endure as a city and franchise before the titles come your way....

Gotta love the win tonight.

For me it's GREAT

I'm become a Spurs fan in 94, and in my 1st playoffs Jazz killed us. I remember seeing those games here on TNT Latin America, that showed the playoffs here in Brazil at that time.

My first years as Spurs fans the Jazz always killed us in the playoffs

It's great to win now

F the Jazz and F those dirty-ass mofos Stockton and Malone. Especially Malone that punk-ass bitch. I hope his no-ring wearing ass choked on a chicken bone watching his team get punked.

Sloan is also a testament to how people can dish it out but can't take it. Here's to hoping Sloan exits this playoffs a broken man.

I remember most about the Spurs vs Jazz rivalry has to be Karl Malone jabbing DRob with those sharp elbows of his..

I can't freaking stand Malone going to the free throw line and mumbling something before shooting those damn free throws... and they always went in

The only thing nicer about beating the Jazz in Utah in the playoffs is doing it by dominating them in the fourth quarter. The fact that Manu dominated Derek Fisher and stole all his baby cancer goodwill is just the cherry on the sundae.

Spot on, timvp.

For years Utah was my most hated team. Then the Lakers came along, and I forgot how much hatred I had for Utah. When the rumours of Karl Malone joining the Spurs started popping up, I was considering taking the year off of being a Spur fan. That's how much hate I had for him and that organization. Timmy's game winner over Malone in 2002-2003 at the Delta center is one of my all time favourite Spur moments.

But still my hate hadn't really returned untill I saw Game 3. Then came the ending to Game 4 and it felt fucking great to see Sloan and the crowd lose. It's only right.

Fuck the Utah crowd. Fuck Jerry Sloan. Fuck the Utah Jazz.

This one was for 5-0 :smokin
