With all of the bs threads out there spewing crap all over the place I'm gonna make this game damn simple to understand...
The Jazz kept their same strategy from game 3. They were physical with everyone, especially in the paint. Their strategy was to muck it up and bang people around, slap at the ball constantly, pull jersey's, and force the officials to call more fouls than they knew they would. The Spurs came into this game knowing this, and matched the Jazz with physical play. The officials let the teams play and mostly overlooked all of the slapping and body checking for 3 quarters, but in the 4th they started calling it. The Spurs responded by doubling Boozer on touch and forcing Kirilenko and others to take jump shots. When Williams did attack the basket the Spurs gave ground and made him earn the shot without going to the line. The Jazz responded by playing the same way they did for 3 quarters, basically hacking and checking everything in the lane. They never adjusted, lost their composure, and Fisher started being bush league.
That's the difference. Props to the Spurs for playing through the holds and hacks and adjusting in the 4th to take the game.
