Today on "Around the Horn" on ESPN Bill Plashke (an LA sportswriter of all people) endorsed the Mavs move of putting AJ in charge for the night. He cited a key stat, that the Mavs are 29th in the league in assists, and then said that AJ would get the ball moving for them better because he was "one of the all time great assist men in the league." Host Tony Reali promptly muted him and docked him three points.

So AJ#6, if you're out there, chock one vote for retiring AJ's number from Bill Plashke, and one against from Reali.

If they're worried about being 29th in assists, they need look no further than Cuban cheaping out on Nash this summer.
