Haha sellout bitch? I'm not familiar with what he did at Texas. He's been great this series. He didn't get much playing time in the first two games, but when he was in he made an impact. Game 3 and so far in Game 4 he has been a major thorn in the side of the Pistons (particularly Billups). Every time I've seen this kid play all season, I thought he definitely had something, and he's showing it big time now.

I don't think Gibson will ever be at Deron's or Chris Paul's level, but I think he's going to be a very solid player for the Cavs, and he'll do very nicely as Robin to Lebron's Batman.

gibson was a 3ball chucker at UT. great slasher and finisher when he felt like it. huge disappointment.

He had an amazingly promising freshman season, then his sophmore season he regressed in every statistical category known to man, turned it over precisely when our backs were against the wall, was much more inconsistent, and never was that much of a slasher but he could hit the three with regularity when he played off the ball at the 2 spot.
Thats why I dont get how he's good now.
I bet you anything he only plays well at home, and turns it over like mad if they give him significant time at the 1. Then again, even at the 1, the ball is in James hands most of the time so maybe not.
I saw him at an Exxon during his sophmore year and wanted to tell him how much he sucked but he had two three hundred pound guys with him one of whom was named Bubba so i opted not to call him out.

The young kid is doing well....but let's not get carried away. Too much talk about him for very little production up to this point.
This is the first game in the playoffs in which he's scored more than 9 points. (tonight he has 11 -- 7 of those are FT's)
He's got decent 3 point range, can push it up court, what I would call 'scrappy' on defense w/ quick hands looking to slap away the ball.
IMO they are better w/ him because he can push it better than Hughes or Snow, and is a more reliable shooter. I still question his passing skills, and ability to 'run' the offense. He hasn't yet had more than 4 assists in the playoffs...and never topped 5 in any game in the NBA.
But seriously, he hasn't really done a whole hell of alot yet. Hopefully next year he's given the starter spot. He may have a bright future...but I don't think well ever call him a star.

He is not a point guard at all, no mentality or anything.
He's a classic 2 guard in a 1 guard's body.
That is why I felt he was such a complete moron for leaving after a sophmore season, and cleveland bigger morons for rewarding him with hundreds of thousands of dollars.

You'd be desperate too if your PG's were Snow and Damon Jones :lol :lol

I feel like hijacking the thread.
Did any of the Victoria actually attend UT Austin?
Forgive me if this has been dealt with elsewhere.

Gibson was a better player at Houston Jones high school than he was at UT. I particularly blame Barnes for trying to force the kid to be a point when he obviously didn't have the handles or the passing ability to fill that position. He's a shooter all the way, and Barnes never got that in his head. By the time he put Paulino at point and moved Gibson the damn kid had gotten all booty hurt and didn't do anything but jack up 3 after 3. He had promise, but Barnes didn't know how to use him in the college game. He'll be a good role player next to LeBron and under Brown because they won't ask him to handle the ball much.
