I´m really tired about read in every forum that Manu is a Flopper. I guess than the media really need to heat up the playoffs and then is givin' a lot of atention to Bowen as Dirty Player, Manu as Flopper, Duncan as Boring and the Spurs as the new Bad Boys.

As I think Manu flops just at the same level than

Kobe
Shaq
Fisher
Deron Williams
Steve Nash
Nowitski
etc, etc

but is really Manu the worst Flopper ever?? I don´t think so...

Excuse my poor english

Nobody said he was the worst, Vlade Divac is the worst, maybe Fisher, but Manu is probably in the top five...

A flopper is a flopper...

Of course he is a flopper. There are many players in the NBA that are floppers. Manu gets so much attention because he plays for one of the most disliked and most successful teams in the league.

If Manu Ginolbili played for the New Orleans Hornets he wouldn't get anywhere near as much attention as a flopper.

Kobe? Shaq? Nowitkzi? Deron Williams? Same level of flopping as Manu?

No offense but get your ass outta your head Manu flops for mainly EVERYTHING. He flops more than D-Wade, Raja Bell, hell he even outflopped Fisher in this series. I bet if you bumped him non intentionally as soon as theres contact he would fall on his ass.

And of course he wouldn't get attention flopping as a Hornet, he gets so much attention because he's one of the best at doing it and he helps his team winning by doing so.

Pretty much anyone covered by Bowen starts flopping more.

manu may be one of the BEST floppers in the league. as in, he knows when to do it and how to do it. His whole game isnt predicated on flopping like some would suggest.

Everyone Flops! just some are better at it than others.

Manu is the most fearless driver in the league. Consequently, he literally gets beat to hell out there. If he flops occassionaly. He's more than earned the right. Unlike someone like Fisher.

It's not like they're gonna stop beating the hell outta the guy. So he might as well get something from 'em when he can.

Manu!

Raja Bell and Devin Harris are the top floppers in the league.

Ok I remember Shaq getting offensives fouls from TPark
And maybe Kobe doesn´t get to much attention as a Flopper because he is too much busy punching rivals (Mike Bibby, Manu, etc, etc) and complaining about his own team. Oh and they are having a nice rest right now.

For the nth time, Manu flops on D not on O. It is beyond the point that he attacks the rim and gets hit.

What Manu gets criticized about is his flops on chrages. Reality is he is quick and is usually well positioned to take the charge. But he sells (flops) it damm well and the refs usually buy it. That is what gets other team's fans riled up.

Flopping is an AMERICAN tradition. Manu didn't start it. Vlade didn't either. I don't know if anyone posted this already but this idea that flopping came from the "soccer countries" is a bunch of bullshit.

http://hoopshype.com/columns/flop_hans.htm

An excerpt that sums up the excellent article:

"While amnesiac Riley blames Europe for the flop, the reality is that Fisher, Horry, Evans, Collins, Rodman, Ramsey, Lee, Laimbeer, Newlin, Miller and Sloan were born and raised in the USA and taught the game by
non-European coaches."

I personally think that Ginobili is a flopper plain and simple. BUT, I think he exaggerates contact that's already there and forces and creates the contact. Everyone creates contact...manu makes sure it's seen. It's not pretty but I don't hate him for it. He does take hits the majority of the time I would say.

And at other times, like Game 4, he mimics whatever the opponent is doing to him. Fisher flops on a small little shoulder that is protecting Manu's rightful space as an offensive player, so Ginobili flops on Fisher's aggressive defense. If an opponent knocks him down while the ref isn't looking (and while most fans aren't looking either), then Manu's gonna try to grab you and take you down with him or prevent you from doing something you want to do while the ref isn't looking (that's what happened when he grabbed amare's leg in the suns series). I would try to do the exact same thing if I were in Manu's position. But he's too much of a stud that I wouldn't be able to do anything near what he does on the court ;)

If I had to take some of Manu's drives, I'd probably slide under the basket on my back, shoot with my eyes closed, and then cover my head. They got a Manu bobble head now? Okur treated him like a bobble head.

Each time I was hoping he would get knocked flat on his ass. Williams doesn't flop at all on O, he tried on D but didn't get the kind of benefit Manu does. Manu is very good at getting away with the pushoff though.

As much as I hate the guy, I'll give him his props. The guy is fearless when it comes to driving and he NEVER stops. But, him and Parker spend more time on thier backs than a quarter whore in Vegas.(with or without contact)

I've never understood why flopping is a bad thing as long as the refs are going to continue to call the game the way they currently do. As a fan, I'd be happy if one of the players on my team is good at flopping as long as they continue to call the calls. No one flopped much until the rules changed to give the defense a break on positioning. If you don't like flopping and floppers then blame the league not the player.

Oh, Gee!!

As a Jazz fan, you all should know, I HATE COLLINS! He is worthless, as was evident in the last series. Araujo did more than Collins(Against TD on both ends) but our coach loves Collins, go figure!
