I figured you guys to be a little smarter. I guess not. lol The east plays d the west doesnt. We beat you guys both times the east has won the last 2 finals. When they said the east was second rate were not the jazz. If they approach it like that the Cavs will make them pay. Oh did i mention we have the best player on the planet. Good luck.

Three of the top 4 teams in points allowed during the 2006-07 season all resided in Texas. They might not play much defense in the West, but there's a ton of defense played in Texas.

By the way, if you're arguing that the East has won the last 2 Finals, you've either blocked 2005 from your memory, or you might want to check here (http://www.nba.com/finals2005/) to refresh your memory.

Only fools think the Finals will be easy. The difficulty in that series, though, might rival the difficulty in figuring out what on Earth your post said.

Get your excuses ready and start your whining engines Cav's fan.

At least you won't be able to say that the NBA or Stern conspired to let the Spurs whip your ass.

After all isn't Lebron their "STAR"?

Remember Mike Brown is trying to get where Pop has already taken him.

Congrats on your 1st trip. Reminded me of 1999.

I'd like to see this go 6. I'm not sure it will.

Well, I hope Spurs fans can maintain their composure, since this is really the Spurs' first encounter with playoff success. I shudder to think how complacent we'll be as a group when we've had all of the successes of the Cavaliers.

Maybe Ted Stepien will purchase the Spurs someday. That would be great.

6? I want to see a sweep, but logic tells me Cleveland will get at least game 3 or 4. They're a tough squad at home and can scrap, but too one dimensional without a decent low post game.

I don't know why some people are so scared of Z. The guy's a decent role player who can get some now and again, but this front line is nothing compared to Camby and Nene - and they had a "on fire" Melo and Iverson in the back court. James is better with the ball than Melo, but at this point Melo is the better shooter.

We don't consider division titles as really making your mark. Hell we won a couple of those when we were in the Central. Many since we were moved out west.

Be careful with your history or we might break out the Ehlo references.

In the 80's?
The Spurs had plenty of success in the early 80's, they made the playoffs:
1980-1983 WCF '82, '83
1985
1986
1988
That is 6 seasons
Compared to the Cavs.
1985
1988
1989 ECF
That is three years.

You don't even know your own teams history and you are using it as an argument. :rolleyes

Did I say any series would be easy? Me, I, myself? When?

Very nice generalization and nice complex. :rolleyes

Damn, show some freaking humility, amateur! Your team is in the Finals for the first time in its franchise history, which is 36 years, and you are already yapping in Spurs fan forum as if you suffer from tiny package complex. Everything you said was hot air and meaningless, including your jealous-ridden take that your team has “the best player on the planet”. Give me a f-ing break. Win some championships before talking with such audacity. And those two regular season games were tuneup games for the championship veteran Spurs, as you will soon discover.

My advice to you- think before you post.

May your team actually win something before you waste people's time, including your own.

It's true if they pound the ball inside to Timmy and Tony is getting in the paint, Manu is being aggressive, our D is physical and we are taking care of the boards they have little to no shot. If the Spurs are playing their best the Cavs can not beat them.

Oh did i mention we have the best player on the planet.

Unfortunately, the championship goes to the best team, which you don't have.

But LeBron can be "the best player not to win a championship", if that helps. Up till now, that's been a toss-up between Barkley and Karl Malone.

Before you get all indignant, you do know that we were in the wrong during the Mexican revolution, yes? That it was a horrible cause, fought by some of the worst men the south had to offer? I'm sure you've read that middleschool taught Texas History dreck...but higher education will set you straight, dude.

History is only the winner's side of the story.

Death in June is correct...though Santa Anna still sounds like an ass. I still love Texas more than anything...but our history is way miswritten (is that a word?).

In the 80's?
The Spurs had plenty of success in the early 80's, they made the playoffs:
1980-1983 WCF '82, '83
1985
1986
1988
That is 6 seasons
Compared to the Cavs.
1985
1988
1989 ECF
That is three years.

You don't even know your own teams history and you are using it as an argument. :rolleyes

You beat me to it.

How were we wrong ? Mexico recruited people to come and live in the region expecting them all to be Catholics - Santa Anna then chose to abolish the constitution in an attemtp to centralize all the power -- Zacatecas followed -- then later the alamo etc...etc... Mexico lost -Texas became a republic and then joined the union.

Next thing I know you are going to tell me how Cali, Utah, Arizona and Texas all really belong to Mexico and shout reconquista. -- oh and then France will come and reclaim La. saying we ripped them off with the purchase.

FYI i'm a senior in college.... And I have been studying TX history for 15 years... I love TX history, and while AMERICA did some pretty nasty things in the Mexican/ AMERICAN war, the defenders of the Alamo had nothin to do with it. He was speaking badly of the Alamo, and I thought he should be told something... And if you think that the TX DOI is laughable what do you think of the American DOI?

"Oh did i mention we have the best player on the planet. Good luck."

What planet is that as Duncan is by far the best on Earth?

Yeah this whole time I thought we had Tim Duncan who was the best player on the planet right now. I guess 3 championships and another final appearance doesn't equate to much.

I ask again: Would the Cavs or Detroit have made the playoffs in the West? I can only assume you didn't watch or pay any attention to the West this year.

First off, this question is a joke...are you serious asking this question?

Secondly, yes, both teams would have made it, the Lakers were not a good team, Houston was an average team disguised with a good record, Denver and Utah both were not that good. Also, you are conviniently forgetting that Golden State was only two games above .500 and shot lights out throughout the entire postseason.

Don't kid yourself, the difference between the West and the East at the top of the conference is slim. Cleveland and Detroit could have more than held their own in the West. Case in point, Cleveland was 2-0 vs. SA this season and had a winning record against SA, Phoenix, and Dallas this season.

Denver > Cavs
Phoenix > Cavs
Utah> Cavs

AI and Melo and their supporting cast> Lebron and the clownshoes
Suns vs Cavs isn't even debatable
Deron Williams is the best all around point guard in the league paired up with Boozer is a much better team than Lebron

Looking forward to a great series. Thursday can't come soon enough.
