View Full Version : Devin Brown night - a prediction

Just a feeling that he breaks out even bigger tonight - perfect athletic Spur fix for some of the Sixer's young studs and Pop will probably want to rest starters and Barry some if they get any kind of lead.

Do it Devin!

C'mon Doc, I want Devin to do well also, but one good night does set a precedent for him to get more minutes, especially with Pop. His favorite Robert Horry will get more minutes than Devin tonight. Ugh.

P.S.
Don't tell Whottt that, we'll get a 10 page essay on why Horry is the most underrated player in the NBA.

I must admit, I thought you were VERY homer-ific in making this thread, but what do you know;

Brown with 12 midway through the 2nd quarter!

Well Shut my mouth Doc! I stand corrected, Devin has 12 points with a time out in the second. He has the hot hand so far.

It was a totally lucky guess I admit but just a feeling + Pop goes in streaks on who he plays so I took a shot.

Brown is a vastly under-rated player with guts, recall that in the finals last year in the last few games one of few to step up = he will be a big part of this team before it is all over this year.

Kori or TimVP I want a 2nd SPUR for this prediction! (Also hit last years win total on the nose and will again this year = 63 - would be 65 but Pop will rest best when #1 locked up early.)

Devin with 22! Your "even bigger breakout" prediction was superb.

devin will not be a spur next year

the only way he stays is if he is promised barry's minutes

Ducks, chill.

Brown was great on offense for 2 games, but manu was great for several games on offense, and lately has been in an offensive lul.

I don't know that we can count on Brown on either side of the court consistently, or for big minutes. He needs grooming still, but in a year or 2 he is the starting swingman for the spurs, playing next to Manu. They will call that tandem Small but Swift.

I think some team will offer him to much money and spurs let him go actually

if he is promised time on the court he might be convinced to stay

but I would not count on it

Just a thought; if Devin got a 96 (or so) from TimVP for his last performance, he is off the scale this time!

I think the scale will have to be adjusted for him, i'm afraid, and the bar will be higher for future performances.

It is quite possible that a team could steal him away from us because you can't keep everybody when you are already over the cap (which we will be), and you hardly have minutes to play everyone anyway (unless we get rid of bowen...hmmm)

But will the cap be a player when his contract comes up? The Spurs have his rookie contract, so he will have sufficient time with the team that they can match any offer, cap or not...right?

Ducks will find a downer even if the Spurs win the championship.
