B12 got 6 teams in; 3 #1s and 3 #3s.
#3 Baylor was the 1st B12 team out, 2-and-a-bbq.
#3 Neb made it to champ game via loser's bracket and got beat by 12 runs.
#3 OSU went undefeated and advanced.
#1 atm lost their 2nd game, but won in the loser's bracket and staved off elimiation by winning last night. They forced a final game today.
#1 Mizzou breezed thru until last night, then they gave up a 2-run homer in the 8th and lost to L'ville. This forces a final game for them today as well.
#1 UT doesn't know yet... they got rained out while losing. They have to win 2 today, or they are done.
In Round Rock, play was suspended in yesterday’s #16 UC Irvine-#4 Texas game with the Anteaters leading 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh inning. Play will resume at 1 pm, and if the Longhorns comes back to win, they’ll need to beat the ‘Eaters again at 3 pm. Give UCI a big edge because of its rested bullpen–its starters went a combined 17 innings over its first two games, leaving just one inning of mop-up work for the ‘pen. Winner gets the winner of the #14 Wichita vs #15 Arizona contest. If UT comes back to win, they will be the Super host.
In Columbia, Mo., Louisville pushed #13 Missouri to a decisive game with a 4-3 win yesterday. The Cardinals have burned up much of their pitching to get to today’s 1pm showdown, but they’ll throw everything they’ve got at the Tigers today. We could see an extended outing for hard-throwing closer Trystan Magnuson. Missouri’s bullpen was spared somewhat by Aaron Crow’s complete game in its opener against Kent State, and the Tigers have played one fewer game than the Cardinals, so give Mizzou the edge. Winner gets Oklahoma State. If Mizzou wins, they will host. If Louisville wins, expect the Cowboys to host at The Brick in Oklahoma City.
In College Station, #10 Texas A&M forced a decisive final game against Louisiana-Lafayette with a 4-1 win last night behind seven strong innings from Scott Migl. This could be a staff day for both teams, but the Aggies have more arms and the momentum. Expect a high-scoring affair in today’s game, scheduled for 6pm. Winner of this regional will travel to #2 Rice.
