My team actually won the Super Bowl this year, so that was cool. And with my NBA team about to win the Finals, it's a great year to be me. Maybe for Christmas I'll get Kate Beckinsale under the tree.

It's funny that your poking fun of a city for their failures from a city that has one major sports team, and they (The Spurs) have only been good since 1999. It would be easy to rip on Cleveland for the Browns and Indians, then claim to be a fan of whatever team won the Series or Super Bowl that year. I'm not a Browns fan, but they are some of the most loyal in the NFL, you have to respect that.

and the Browns actually eliminated the Cowboys in consecutive playoffs in the late sixties. although, those now stand as the greatest victories in Browns football history, attempts to go back and make rings for those victories were denied by the league.

Browns officials were informed you actually have to win the championship :lol

The Texas Ohio State game in 2005 was a classic, and it went right down to the wire. It was two great teams going at one another, but remember Troy Smith (becuase of own stupidity) did not play but only half of the game. Also, don't act as if Texas football is superior compared to Ohio State:

Heisman Throphies : Ohio St. (8) Texas (2)
National Titles Ohio St. (7) Texas (4)
Players drafted in 1st rd. Ohio St. (66) Texas (52)
Notable Fans Ohio St. (Jack Nicholas/George Steinbrenner) Texas (Matthew Mcconaughey aka d-bag)

and lets remember that Ohio State atleast pur up a fight in their own house in 2005

I will say this again. The level of competition that one sees in the big ten or big 12 is aobut the same level of competition that you see at the AA baseball level. It may be watched and hyped all to shit but the fact remains that the roster compostions are equivalent in talent.

In college athletics in the top conferences less than 10% of the players have any chance of playing on an NFL or NBA team and less that 1% will ever start.

So while it may make you feel better to see OSU actually do something when you look to the highest level of competition in your state it has been a complete and abject failure. One championship since 1950 and only one appearance in a championship game/seriesr that was choked away. The Ravens move out and win in less thana decade. In short the curse is real and more thoroughgoing than even the dreaded Red Sox curse was.

Saying the Jazz are better when I don't remember them beating the Cavs in 3 years is a strech in my book, and Chicago is no better than the Cavs. People say the Spurs Jazz are boring...shit the Jazz not only is their team a snoozefest, but you have to look in the stand at all those douchebags of Utah the whole game. Atleast with the Spurs you get Parkers hot bitch.

and they (The Spurs) have only been good since 1999.

I guess that depends on how you define the term "good."

Since the ABA-NBA merger, the Spurs have the 2nd best winning percentage in the NBA (behind only Los Angeles). They have won 15 divisional titles and have qualified for the NBA playoffs in all but 4 seasons. They've won 54% of their playoff games during that span. They've won at least one playoff series in 15 of their 27 playoff appearances, have played in 9 conference finals during that span (including at least one in every decade), and 4 NBA Finals.

You'd be really hard-pressed to find another NBA franchise outside of Los Angeles that has sustained that level of success since the merger.

when I said that I was refering to "good" as championships won, since this whole thread is bashing the sports teams of Cleveland. If you Look at the Browns, historically they have been one of the more winning franchises in the NFL when you look at the 60,70,80's and parts of the 90's. because San Antonio is a hotbed for pro sports franchises. It must be that San Antonio is turing every franchise down on their plans to move into the city. I can see why no franchise wants part in your city, you have one of the best in the NBA, and you can't even sell out the playoff games. It must be nice to have no NFL or Baseball team and jump on whatever bandwagon you want to depending on who is good that year.

I can already see the responses of the Spurs fans, they will all come back and say how they are a fan of some winning team of another sport from some other city, and completely miss the point that this started out as a rip on the city of cleveland, and San Antonio has 1 whole sport to back themselves up, and probably will not get another major franchise in most of our lifetimes. Funny how so many Spurs fans come back and say they are Cowboys fans, Colts fans, Ravens fans, whatever team it is that is winning. San Antonio has one of the all time best basketball franchises, but has absolutely zero tradition in any other sport, or major school.

We swept through the Lakers who have had your number forever, constantly beating on your asteriks. Why don't we just put an asterik on Bibby for his impersonation of a good point guard.
