go on about the Spurs? An example of ESPN bias if I've ever saw one. Now they just skip over it to go to Vick...disgusting.

The bright side is they have to talk about us for at least one day after we win. Unless Kobe pulls some more trade me drama on the same day, which he probably will.

It's probably because somebody had some common sense. Skip Bayless is a complete retard no matter what topic he's talking about, he just spews controversial drivel to get ratings.

I never thought anyone could make Skip Bayless seem rational, but those two live stews guys are just this side of Steven A Smith bad.
Anyway, who really cares about what the media has to say? The great thing about sports is that it is settled on the court, and no matter what the media wants or says we all may get the chance to celebrate 4 while Cleveland sets it's river on fire.

I think that Kobe might suffer a heart attack if he doesn't hear his name mentioned at least fifty times on public airwaves every day.

LOL. Is it possible to burn a river? I look for Clevelanders to overturn and burn every car in sight when they lose.

Agree,
Who cares about the media. They're not the ones playing for the Big Prize. All we need to do is plan that night to celebrate and let the local media cover it.

Actually, it was the Cuyahoga river. The 1969 fire was the tenth time the river burned.

At least Skip gives equal time. His dismissal of what Lebron does is as stupid as the rest of the world's dismissal of what the Spurs do.

see this is what i dont understand from Spurs fans
NO ONE is dismissing anything from the Spurs
EVERYONE gives them credit for being the best and EVERYONE is picking them to win this series easily
you have to understand the Cavs have NEVER, NOT IN 37 YEARS, BEEN TO THE FINALS.....and a 22 yr old with a supporting cast that is regarded as "nobodys" led them to the finals....of course that is going to draw more attention than the Spurs reaching the finals AGAIN..
i dont know why you all feel shafted?

He once said Nash > Stockton.
After that, I couldn't take even listening to him.
He's an idiot.

It's a San Antonio phenomenon. We won't feel loved unless we're talked about (and praised) by every sports anchor, columnist, sports show, newspaper, and blogger. If even one solitary writer picks a team other than the Spurs or fails to mention them when discussing basketball or sports in general, we take it as a personal insult to the entire Spurs organization and each and every citizen of San Antonio.

Perhaps if you guys won something meaningful a bunch of times you would understand.
In reality if you do not understand how the players are using it as a motivational tactic to come to the game ready to kick your ass i dont know what to tell you.
But in reality, teams have always pissed on our championships from Phil jackson to the current Suns and Cavs douchebags. As far as i go, i could care less. That fourth banner up in the AT&T Center is the best FUCK YOU we could give to the lot of you.

It's not a matter of feeling shafted. A huge portion of the national media minimizes what the team does. ESPN had an asterisk on their front page after the Spurs beat the Suns and the question on Cold Pizza after Manu had that amazing fourth quarter against Utah was "Is Manu ruining the NBA?" It's completely ignorant and unfair, and I was just pointing out that Skip's attemtps to minimize Lebron's huge performance in game five is just as idiotic. Seems fairly simple to me.
It's good for the Spurs anyway. They play better when nobody's heaping praise upon them. I'm glad ESPN shows that stupid dunk over Timmy every time they talk about the finals. They literally showed it six times in a row while they were interviewing some beat reporter from Cleveland.

I feel your pain. Think of it this way Jon, Imagine that you do win - they wont stop talking about LeBron until he's lost 3 in a row from then on. Imagine if you won without LeBron, and every year you kept going back, and every year they kept saying you were going to lose or talked about the Spurs or Lakers and never mentioned your team. Then you won a second and even a third and then, only then did you ever hear someone pick your team. Even though it was a crazy fat man on TNT screaming Ginobli.. er Boobie! And then, EVEN then you were dismissed for the most part.
Well you get the picture of our insecurities I hope. It's sick but we have for years felt dismissed, and when we finally get props we're getting outdone on our 4th trip by King LeBron and his face on our TV sets 24-7, with a quick "And in other news Kobe Bryant" followed by scrolling text that says "Spurs to be in Finals".

You gotta go back and watch. Those weren't touch fouls. Those were Jerry Sloan fouls. Notice Manu didn't get any and ones. There wasn't a single foul on Manu that wasn't legit. After the national media came in after the game and called him a flopper, I went back and watched the second half numerous times. That was a clinic in aggression.
