As a way to thank Spurs fans, the San Antonio Spurs have teamed up with H-E-B to giveaway "Go Spurs Go" T-shirts to all 18,797 people who enter the AT&T Center as the Spurs take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday, June 7 at 8:00 p.m.

The white t-shirts that read "Go Spurs Go" have the team logo on them and will unite the crowd as they cheer the team on during the NBA Finals. All fans attending the game that night are encouraged to show their spirit by donning the white "Go Spurs Go" t-shirts to show their support for the team. With a sold out crowd, the Spurs are looking forward to painting the AT&T Center with "Go Spurs Go".

Black might make it look like nobody was there -- with the relative silence of the San Antonio crowd at times and all of the criticism that arose after Game 1 of the WCF, I'd think they'd want to be sure that the viewing public is aware that there are actually people in the seats in SA.

The question is whether those who creatively choose to wear lime green or purple to Spurs games can be bothered to cover up their color selections and participate in the event.

Spurs to distribute T-shirts Thursday night

T-shirt time has finally arrived at the AT&T Center.

The Spurs will distribute white T-shirts emblazoned with "Go Spurs Go" and the team's logo to each fan who enters the building for Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday, the Spurs' Monica Taylor announced Tuesday night on The Charlie & Chance Show on WOAI (1200 AM).

Giving out same-colored T-shirts to fans for playoff games is nothing new in the NBA. The Warriors and the Jazz both did it earlier this postseason.

But the Spurs had bucked the trend - until now.

Prodded by WOAI's David Chancellor, the "Chance" in Charlie & Chance, and some vocal fans, the Spurs decided to take action and reach out to one of its biggest sponsors for help. The shirts come courtesy of Spurs sponsor H-E-B.

"We got a lot of feedback from fans and (the media) about how we could unify everybody and our sponsor stepped up," Taylor said.

"It's a great way for everyone to be unified," Chancellor said. "It's all about 'we,' and this is a way for 19,000 people to become 'we.' "

Taylor also announced that country music singer Clay Walker will perform at halftime.

The Raiders stadium is an open-air stadium in California, so the Sun is almost always shining. That is very different from a darkened arena, but you already knew that.
I just hope the attending Spurs fans are as loud as Raider fans.

i have never understood people doing htat. you're going to a spurs game - why are you not wearing a spurs shirt or a jersey or at least a shirt that is white, black, or grey. ugh.

i'm very excited to get my free shirt. now i need to get there early enough because they'll inevitably run out, despite having one for everyone, because people are always stupid and ask for extras and the workers are dumb and give extras. here's hoping that's not the case, however. though i really don't like the thought of covering up my jersey - just a superstitious thing. the jersey is white anyway, and no one will see me in the 20th row of the upper deck ANYWAY. lol
