Tampa Bay is on the clock with the #1 pick....

Just reported this morning, Tampa is expected to selecet LHP David Price out of Vanderbilt. Here's what a Tampa paper says about him. Seems like a top-of-the-rotation starter.

Price, 21, finished his junior season 11-1, 2.63 with a school-record 194 strikeouts (and only 31 walks) in 133 1/3 innings, allowing a .199 average.

His best pitch is a 95 mph fastball, and he has a nasty slider he can throw at any point in a count. The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder's changeup isn't as refined as he didn't need it much against overmatched college hitters.

Note: Not mentioned is his 78-80mph Slurve

Next on the clock is Kansas City....

I just read on Baseball America's website that Kansas City has settled in on 3B Josh Vitters, the consensus best HS position prospect in the draft. With them having Alex Gordon already there and Mark Teahen pushed to RF, Vitters may have to move to LF...but too many good propects is never a bad thing...

Still, it hasn't become official...so I'll believe it when I see it.

Looks like Boras scared Hicks away from taking Rick Porcello

I knew they wouldnt take Porcello. He wants huge money and MLB contract, Hicks is still gun shy from A-Rod and CHoP debacles.
