TREATS FOR THE TEAMS: Far from home and in hostile territory, the Cleveland Cavaliers were receptive to the down-home motherly warmth brought to them in the form of cookies from Marjorie Johnson, a blue-ribbon baker who appears on NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

Johnson made the rounds Wednesday, camera crew in tow, at practices for both the Cavs and their opponent, the San Antonio Spurs, offering sugary goodness out of a shiny red tin to any and every player who was interested.

At least one Cavalier - name withheld to protect him from coach Mike Brown -could be seen crunching away right on the court. :lol

And when the Spurs' six-foot-six Manu Ginobili politely refused her offer, Johnson, who couldn't be much more than four feet tall and was decked out all in red, persisted, urging him to take one for later.

I hope Manu didn't eat the cookie. You never know what's in it :lol . Leave that for the Cavs guys to eat. Plus Manu doesn't need any more sugar :lol

Bonner found out she was from the Tonight Show and ran over to get interviewed. He did try the cookie and you could see on his face it wasn't so good. Hope we don't need him.

If there's a camera nearby, Damon Jones will be in front of it.

It's supposed to air tonight, iirc. Damn shame, since the game may not be over in time, and even if it is, we won't be home in time. I wanted to see it.

An article yesterday mentioned that she insisted that Bruce take a cookie, and the politely declined at first (said he'd had a little something before practice), but took one in the end and ate it as he walked into the dressing room.

He's from my alma mater. Everytime SFIE sees him, he reminds me, and then bemoans the fact that he sucks so much.

Oh, well. We'll always have Freddie Couples and Phi Slamma Jamma. :dramaquee
