Even more than his dunk I loved the one play later on where he cleared out Side Show Bob in the post and got the strong layup. Good stuff from Elson :tu

Elson had his best game of the playoffs by far.

And please folks, don't turn this into Elson vs. Oberto. We've got a two handed monster at center, and it's great having the flexibility to match up to the big men the opponent throws on the court. :tu

He also showed great hustle diving and getting a loose ball that led to a Spurs fastbreak.

...and those tap out offensive rebounds were sweet too.

Indeed, he had a solid game. But that dunk-and-one was the best part for me.

Elson/Oberto/Horry did what they needed to do. On to Game 2.

Definitely had a great game. Hopefully he can keep it up. Oberto is a smarter player, but Elson is more athletic. It presents different looks for the opponent when either is out there, creating matchup problems.

Credit to parker for the pinpoint assist.. he spotted the small opening and delivered a perfect pass thru 2 defenders. Beautiful.

I was very impressed with Elson. Especially when you consider what we've been getting from him recently.

Fran...props.

Very true, but how many times out of ten would Elson fumble that ball out of bounds? :lol

Yay for Elson. You could see how much that dunk meant to him. I have a feeling he'll be a big part of this series.

Yeah, props to Elson.

Also, you know what, props to the Office and Pop for assembling this team - look how many contributors we have, and how many different ways we can play? Those things both stem from the CONSTRUCTION of the team - unlike 2005 when 7 guys carried us to the Ring, this year we have 10 guys who contribute something, depending on matchups and style being played. props to all concerned! :toast

Since LJ grades on a curve of player ability and expectations most times, this is probably an A night for 'Cisco.

Elson dealt with Varejao better, I thought. His quickness is a plus there.

I was excited for the Elson trade, great athletic guy. He's got Nazr stone hands +1 though. Also, someone teach him to time his jumps, he's always flatfooted.

If anyone can sort him out, Pop can, and there's a lot of promise there.

:D

In fact, I told my girlfriend sitting next to me on the couch that Elson needed to show something right now even before Tony started to run up the court for that play.

And what happens literaly 3 seconds later?
Tony makes the pass to the running Elson and BOOOOOOMMM!!!

That was almost as amazing as me predicting before the game that Elson would play 15 minutes because I commented on an article in the dutch paper over here that Elson would seldom be used these Finals.

I also predicted a 15 point victory....ok, sorry about that one.

Oh yeah, I posted in here that it was gonna be a sweep and we would keep LeBron in check. Now we just have to work on looking after the other guys walking around in red and gold and we be sweepin'.

The most emotional moment of the night for me was to see Sean, George and David on the court and David being humble when the San Antonio crowd gave him the loudest cheers on the standing ovation.

Awesome.

Continue to make David proud San Antonio, do your thang and get that ring!

WOOHOO!!!!

What amazed me most about that dunk...was that Elson actually caught that pass.

Finally, we got Centers who have hands.
