Way to show 'em Bruce. The absence of the dpoy trophy is inexcusable. That was a defensive CLINIC you just put on the "greatest 2nd coming of mj since sliced bread and wheaties espn highlight whore."

WILL BRUCE CONTINUE THE LOCKDOWN NEXT GAME?

I believe that guarding Kobe in the playoffs all those years has given Bruce everything he needs to be a significant defender against Lebron. The difference to me is that Kobe still scared the shit out of me whenever they played.

He did a pretty good job.

he let him get free for a couple threes to get his groove going better.

He better be ready for game 2, cause hes gonna be a bitch of a guard even more than normal.

He sounded pretty pissed in the postgame news conference

Bruce goes against the youngest, best, most athletic player on the team EVERY SINGLE GAME OF THE YEAR, and he's still all NBA first team at the age of 37. That's CRAZY. Aside from the biggest stars in NBA history, no one can say that.

He gave me the spooks when he walked into the locker room in the first quarter. Make the appropriate adjustments for game 2.

Dude, those threes were ridiculous fadeaways. You live with that and keep his azz out of the lane. LeBron ALWAYS thinks he's a better shooter than he actually is.

Yeah those 3's were horrible shots. Even Mike Brown noted in the post game that just because LeBron made a couple shots doesn't mean he got going at all. He said those were bad possessions for the Cavs because LeBron was just Pound-Pound-Pound-Pound-Shoot.

Lebron's going to press and start jacking up all sorts of shots next game when the Spurs cut of the lane again.

Mark it.

Hopefully Lebron goes to that when the lane gets cut off again. If they can get him jacking up shots all night the 4th title will be close at hand.

Cavs scripted about the first 5 plays to go through the supporting cast. Dumb. That gave Bruce and the Spurs some time to warm up their D on him and when he finally started getting the rock he seemed out of sync (yes, Bruce was a reason for that). I'm guessing Brown won't make that mistake again.

Bruce even managed to fit in a little recruiting tonight...

SAN ANTONIO - JUNE 7: Bruce Bowen #12 (L) of the San Antonio Spurs with Chris Bosh of the Toronto Raptors after the Spurs Game One win of the 2007 NBA Finals at the AT&T Center June 7, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas.

Bruce was arguably the MVP tonight. His D (and his help) on LeBron was textbook. No FGs in the first half, and LeBron never even sniffed the rim.

Since we're into asterisks, the DPOY award for 2007 should have a big one.

Just concentrate on Bruce off the ball for a few plays. He's amazing to watch! He works so hard. He is an integral part of this team. Those dagger 3's don't hurt either!

Bowen did a nice job last night but IMO your bigs helping, showing and recovering were what really made the difference on LBJ. Oberto in particular did a great job forcing LBJ away from the basket and getting physical with him.

maybe ... maybe not. the cavs are 3-1 in the reg season since brown took over 05-06. two games were the 2nd of back2backs. the other two games were split. in both non-b2b games, james' scoring was 7-17 or 7-16, there abouts. there are no b2b in the playoffs, so hopefully the trend continues.
