Anyone in here interested in getting together on a Saturday or Sunday and renting a gym so we could play some ball? It's about 15 dollars an Hour and if we get about 10-15 people it woudln't be more than a couple bucks to play for a few hours.

Who's down?

Where are we talking about? I'm on the NE side (near 281/1604) and I'm interested as long as I don't have to drive thirty minutes.

Man, I haven't played basketball at all in two months. If I went out there now, I'd probably die.

Count me down if its on the north side of town. I don't want to drive too far. I have 2 friends that might be interested as well. I played about a week ago for the first time in 7 months.

Manny-- I know we spoke earlier but if you want the gym this weekend, I think you would have to reserve/pay by today.

There's not many gyms to rent on the Northside. We've rented just about every gym in San Antonio. Probably the nearest one to Northside is Lou Hamilton Center at Lady Bird Johnson Park. And it's not really close -- it's at Nacogdoches (sp?) and Wurzbach Pkwy.

It doesn't have to be the North Side.....Central(ish)??

I am off I-10 closer to HWY 59. Get one closer to me, please.

One usual good rule of thumb: anyone who says "I haven't played in XXX" is lying out their ass.

Once I get some contacts I'll play.

I've played at that one. It's not bad (for me). No more than about ten minutes down Wurzbach Pky. But you're right, rentable ones are few and far between.

Any way to do it during the week?

Im down, LBJ is a good one.. central to most and rentable. Plus its probably not rented on a Sunday evening from about 9-11.

I would be in, just can't this weekend.

Kori/VP,
How bout another 3-3 Tourney, last one was fun.

If I could make some suggestions:

Have each team pay a small fee.
Have one ref per game.

The fee pays for the refs and the gym. It cuts down on the arguing of fouls. I got to know one of refs from the league I played last month. I could ask how much they would charge.

Kori Ellis
12-02-2004, 11:31 PM
That's a good idea about the ref. Ask and see what he charges, then let us know.

Dex

LBJ sounds great to me. :spin Count me in if this goes down.

timvp
12-02-2004, 11:33 PM
Set it up and I'll ref. Since my team won it all last time, we'll give other people a chance.

Who was your team made up of?

Kori Ellis
12-02-2004, 11:37 PM
It was a 12 team 3-on-3 tourney. timvp's team was timvp, Kris, and timvp's brother. And Jeff Vexler was their alternate.

E20
12-02-2004, 11:38 PM

Set this up for December 19th and I might dust off the Nikes. Is that date cool with everybody? It will be almost one year to the day of the last tournament.

Kori Ellis
12-02-2004, 11:57 PM
We'll have to call and see if we can get a gym that day and we can organize a tournament. But everyone who says they are playing must show up. It sucks to have a double-elimination tournament set up with brackets and all, and then a team no-show.

Can we have an over 35 bracket with the stipulation that one player must be less than 5'2, so I can post their ass up?

Useruser666

I think I might have a team of three. I will have to confirm that. Timvp please shine that trophy up really well for me. :lol I know an outside court that's free to play at if we can't get a gym. It's covered but I don't think lighted. The rims and backboards are terrible, but free is free.

It's true that an outside court is rougher on the body but it's not like we'll be playing all the time.

It's a one time thing. I see no big deal with that. :spin

Kori,Manny, LJ...You know I'm in!

I'm down for the 19th as a tourney date.

I have to talk to Brad aka Peja to see if can save that day for the tourney now that he's a married man, but even if he can't I'm down.

Luis, want to be our 3rd?

King

I need a team to be on. :(

I'm 6'0, have a decent jumpshot and formidable runner. Not much of a post threat though, at 150 lb. :lol I actually know how to play D, too.

Pick me pick me pick me.
