View Full Version : This deserves it's own thread (Horry running into Pop)
Higher powers, merge it if neccessary.
Robert Horry crashes into Pop. Pop falls down like he had a heart attack. LMAO That was hilarious.!!!!!!!!!!!!! :lmao I can't wait until the players/coaches comments to this.
Also, I wanna applaud the Cavs, most people in general have dismissed them, but like the Pistons series they have the potential to knock this Spurs team out. I expect the Cavs to come out very strong @ Cleaveland and for Lebron to get going like he usually does. If the second half of tonight's game serves as any indicator he should come out VERY aggressive, I wouldn't be suprised if he attempted 20 shots alone in the 1st half.

Man... oh please. the spurs let it go when Pop took everyone out. When they are connected there's no beating on the spurs.
You sound like those ABC's commentators picking up teams: "I think they are going to come strong next game." What the fuck is that?

When Cleaveland cut it down to 19, Pop inserted the starters back in and that's when the lead was cut down to 8. Clutch plays by Parker and Ginobili got the Spurs back in their dominant form. And FYI Lebron always comes out stronger and plays better when he's @ home, it's not speculation it's a fact. I.E See the Detroit series.
My point: Don't underestimate this Cleaveland team, have a sweep mentality, and think the Spurs have already won the trophy.

First Horry knocks future Hall of Famer Steve Nash into the scorer's table in game 4 of WC semis, now tonight, he knocks future Hall of Fame coach Greg Popovich into the same scorers table. This has got to stop.
Horry needs to be suspended.

Y'all got it wrong......you see, Pop had a discussion with Rob before the game about resolving the stupid issue of his recently acquired moniker of "dirty player" by letting RHorry put a hit on him, and so Pop outlined a manuever for Big Hit Rob to take on him, Pop hitting the floor but getting up without fists swinging, the crowd not leaving their seats to pat Rob on the back for knocking Pop for his brainfart substitutions thereby letting the refs off the hook for T-ing up the crowd, DStern and the media swollenheads got their drama for viewership numbers, and Pop got to make a semi-funny at the podium mike which helped him calm down since he was so livid about the Spur's 4th quarter meltdown.
It's a win-win for everybody!

Popovich takes charge, in more than one way
By ELIZABETH WHITE, Associated Press Writer
June 11, 2007
SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich is used to being in charge.
On Sunday night, he took a charge.
In the fourth quarter of the Spurs' 103-92 Game 2 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night, Robert Horry had so much momentum as he tried to save a ball on the sideline that he ran out of bounds, smack dab into his boss.
Both of them went down hard against the scorer's table.
"That's all I could do," Popovich said, remembering his athletic days at the Air Force Academy. "That's the best thing I could do as a player is fall down."
"I was so scared," said Horry, who had five blocks, five points and nine rebounds in 26 minutes Sunday. "I was like, 'Please don't be hurt, please don't be hurt.' But he jumped up fast, that shows you how tough he is."
Horry, whom Popovich called "our star" on Sunday, has been here before.
In Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Phoenix Suns, Horry checked Steve Nash, who tumbled into the scorer's table. Horry's move started a mini-scrum on the court and resulted in a two-game suspension for Horry and a one-game suspension for the Suns' Amare Stoudemire and Boris Diaw, who left the bench area but weren't involved.
Next time, Horry has some advice for his coach.
"Get out of my way," he joked. "Just jump up, jump up on the scorer's table, a la Steve Nash."

But did you notice the tide turn when he put Bowen back in? Bowen's the clincher. He's the only one who's been able to contain Lebron.
