HOUSTON -- Texas A&M forward Joseph Jones said he has withdrawn his name from the NBA draft and will return to the Aggies for his senior season.
Jones said last month that he would participate in the draft if he thought he would be one of the top 15 picks. He did not hire an agent, thus protecting his college eligibility.
"I feel like I was not getting the response from the NBA people in the spot I wanted to be in, which is the first round or something guaranteed," Jones said in an interview with Houston station KRIV.
Jones has started 94 games, and he averaged 13.4 points and 6.7 rebounds last season as the Aggies finished second in the Big 12 and advanced to the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

He seems lazy to me when I've watched him, like his talent will be enough for him to overcome his opponent.
That won't work at the next level. But if he uses this year to polish his low post game and increase his BBIQ and learn not to commit idiotic fouls, he might turn out to be a nice role player for some team.

Joseph Jones last games vs. t.u.:
2004/2005
1. 13 points 10 boards (27 minutes)
2. 6 points 2 boards (14 minutes)
2005/2006
1. 31 points 4 boards (30 minutes)
2. 14 points 6 boards (39 minutes)
3. 14 points 6 boards (36 minutes)
2006/2007
1. 5 points 7 boards (20 minutes)
2. 12 points 11 boards (31 minutes)
thats an average of 13.57 points and 6.57 boards per game against t.u. the last 3 years. thats right on his average, so you see, t.u. didn't own him at all. furthermore, he was in major foul trouble in a few of those.
...so you can go ahead and shut-the-fuck-up. just another dumb ass t-sip, thats all.

Unfortunately, for a guy with so much potential, this seems to be the norm rather than the exception with him.

Come on jgw, you know you want to slip on that burnt orange shirt late at night when nobody is wathcing. Look at yourself in the mirror and realize how good you look in burnt orange.
It's really not a problem, we've got room for you this winning program called UT. Just let your guard down and come on over, see how it feels for a while? I know you're tempted!

That would be the real tragedy - some HR woman inputting his name wrong and he's lost in the shuffle... although her quote of "Who the fuck would name their kid JamesOn?" would ring true. Later, we can make a TV movie about his life... like a sequel to "Hoop Dreams."
