You can take the 5 fwy the whole way, but if it is during rush hour, it will be quite a while. It's about 40 miles.

It's one freeway the whole way, so you should be good to go. Just pray for no accidents or other traffic jams.

you have to plan your day around traffic in So CA.

My mil lives in Mission Viejo and used to work in Santa Ana...a 20 mile drive. It would take her an hour to get to and from work.

FYI - 40 miles on 5, through LA, can take you up to 3 hours.... plan accordingly.
