I wish we could bring the celebration to Phoenix, down at the ... what DOES Phoenix have in its downtown!? That would be sweet.

And when I see my brother-in-law, who grew up with me in S.A., rooted for the Spurs all his life like me, but then ditched the Spurs in Nov and jumped on the Suns bandwagon, I'm going to to pat him on the back, and congratulate him for his team's victory in the Finals.

Maybe the parade can run by the MLB and NFL stadia, and the NHL arena, too. You know, so everyone can get a taste of what they're missing. :elephant

(Cue the "San Antonio is a Cowboys town, anyway" talk.)

Well, the Diamondbacks have tasted the sweetness of a Championship because they realized the importance of defense (i.e. pitching) to winning a championship.

Maybe the Suns should hire Lute Olsen.

(Cue the "Phoenix has all 4 major sports" talk.)

Phoenix Sports Teams during the Tim Duncan Era:

NHL Coyotes: .443 (4 playoffs, all quarterfinal losses, only one in last 6 years)
NFL Cardinals: .347 (1 playoff in last 10 years)
MLB Diamondbacks: .503 (1 WS, 2 NLDS losses, no playoffs last 5 years)
NBA Suns: .600 (advanced past first round of playoffs only 4 times in 10 years, only made it to WFC twice, no Finals appearances)

Collective winning percentage (weighted): .473 (one championship)

San Antonio Spurs during the Tim Duncan Era:

.709 (4 championships)

Enjoy consoling yourself with your abundance of sports mediocrity.
