there has been a lot of talk on spurstalk about is tony the best PG in the league now, well I figured we might as well do all the positions while we are at it, lets start with PG.

Where's Raymond Felton on that list? Honestly I can't make a choice. I don't think it's clear cut like it is with PF (Duncan) or SG (Kobe)

Nash... best shooting % including the 3. great passer... good court vision. good handles

I'll say Nash is, but it's not a closed case. Parker and Kidd both make equally good cases. Still, Nash is the better passer, the better shooter, better 3-point shooter and despite handling the ball probably twice as often as Parker, he seems to take much better care of the ball, hence their TOs being similar. Defense makes things closer...

I'd rank them Nash, Parker, Kidd... Davis (when healthy), Williams, Billups, Paul.

This, of course doesn't count comboguards like Iverson or Arenas.

Talk to me when Nash learn to plays some defense.

Parker is the one with the hardware and the 3 rings and the finals MVP. When Billups got the finals MVP in 04 he was proclaimed the best PG in the league for it......why not Parker?

Here's the common thread...Parker has owned every other PG on that list...how many of the other PG's on that list can say that?

Parker > Nash once defense is factored in, but he hasn't "owned" Williams or Paul. I'd take both of them over Parker.

of course baron would provide the most entertainment with his streetball quality handles and ability to dunk on big guys heads.

Parker is easily top 5, maybe top 3. Tony is a great scoring PG and before this Finals he usually disappeared deeper in the playoffs. This is the first time we saw really consistent good play for him in the Finals. He was benched for Claxton in 03 and Manu/Barry split a little time handling the ball in 05. But not this year. So the window is open for Tony to become the best at his position. I don't think Tony can become a triple double PG like Kidd, but now that he's got a good feel for his jump shot, if he can mix in some more assists, he could become a better version of Nash because Tony can play D.

But on the Spurs, I don't think it's possible for Parker to average double digit assists per game. The Spurs are awesome at passing the ball and finding the open man, so a lot of times you will see box scores where Tony and Manu both get like 7 assists, or Tony, Manu and Tim or someone else all have 5. The Spurs pass the ball well so instead of having a guy like Nash getting 13 assists by himself in one night, you get a few guys having a decent number of assists and a few more from the other guys and it evens out pretty well.

Chris Paul>Nash... I kidd but after these playoffs you could make a argument for Deron over Nash...

In order:
Steve Nash (although, with Nash's piss-poor D, most of the guys on this list could torch him on any given night).
Chauncey Billups
Baron Davis
Tony Parker
Deron Williams
Chris Paul

kirk hinrich ahead of baron thats pretty comical

1. Hinrich plays D
2. Hinrich's more durable
3. Hinrich makes his teammates better more than Davis

I'm not saying that Hinrich is the better PLAYER, but as a PG, i'll take him before Davis.
