If only you lived in San Antonio man. I'm usually in Cali during the Finals visiting my dad so this was the first one I was here for and seeing everyone honking and driving around waving flags and everything...it's a great feeling.

But congrats on graduating.

What's next for me? Hmmm........I wish I could get rich via anything, lotto, suitcase lying in the ground etc... and travel the world, but I have to go to College and I kind of dread that. The whole excitement of graduating HS is to be done with school, but in fact I have to go to school for another 4-10 years. I'm going ot UC Santa Barbara and I'm gonna try to do a inter UC transfer to UCLA after 1 year. I don't know though, I haven't experienced the College atmosphere and it will be compeletly different than HS and probably more fun and free, but I'm just not digging going to school anymore, I'm getting sick of it.

Why pay out of state tuition at UCSB only to transfer to UCLA? Why not go to a JC for two years and transfer after to UCLA? You'll save yourself around 20,000 grand.

If you are already in Cali, disregard my concern for your finances.

I'm pretty solid on Financial Aid and I'm already in Cali(Been living here for 12 years). So, money essentially isn't a problem, but I'll have to work my ass off for it/make up for it.

Gotcha.

But still, why the UCSB to UCLA transfer? It will still cost you more.

I didn't get accepted to LA my original time applying, but my main reason is UCLA is a more renowned UC. Most people will know UCLA over UCSB. But I'm still pulling for the lotto to come through.

Anything but, Community College/JC, I heard it's exactly like HS, except the classes are colleged level, and I can't take that. I literally HATED High School.

And if you are near UCSB, their CC's are nothing like highschool, and will probably get you in more trouble than UCSB. I can't tell you how many people I met living in Isla Vista that didn't even go to UCSB.

Don't bother with college. It's a big waste of time and money. Go out and get a solid job in construction. That will benefit you the most.

One really good thing about living in a city like Tucson is that the U of A and the junior college here are pretty much on the same page so co-enrolling is a breeze and the counselors always let you know which classes transfer and all of that shit, not to mention the online courses for both are basically the same thing. I had a writing class last year at the juco and the teacher has taught at the U of A, UMASS, and I think Arizona St. Not really sure why he is at a junior college now but whatever, he didnt water his teaching down or anything and it was a hard class but was really worth the money and saved me a ton of gas and money in parking because I didnt have to drive 20 minutes to the U of A for basically the same class with a few hundred dollars tacked on to the pricetag. Juco is definately the way to go, but I kinda like all the stuff that comes with being at a big university

congrats E20...

Community Colleges atleast in southern california have a horrible transfer and graduation rate. I was just back at my CC and found out only 26% of all students transfer out of the school...and only 26.4% end up graduating with an associates degree.

Good luck with it. It's a long haul. This is a great book to read. It was written 20 years ago, but I think you'll enjoy it (http://www.amazon.com/First-Do-Harm-Reflections-Neurosurgeon/dp/0394556690/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/103-5258561-4137427?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1182139980&sr=8-3)
