Played just garbage time in Panatinaikos.

And yet we wanted him to come over last offseason? Somehow I think he doesn't suck that bad.

Let's try to keep this to updates about Javtokas, at least at the start. Thanks.

Javtokas... brought to Panathinaikos to help against strong post players (and especially against Sofoklis Schortsianitis of Olympiakos). Poor understanding of the game, poor post moves, horrible free throw shooting contributed to Javtokas quickly losing his place in the squad. Fantastic body and good strength but that's all...

RJ hasn't been quite the same since his accident. Yes, he was the MVP of the ULEB Cup Final in 2005, but he didn't have the best stats - he got the sympathy vote. Everyone called him the 'Comeback Kid.' However the adrenaline of getting back into the league is gone and his body still suffers from the accident injuries. Gone are the days of the 40" vertical. He only averaged 8 mins a game this season.

Also, to be fair, the ULEB is NOT the Euro league as we know it. The ULEB is the 2nd tier of Europe... the teams that can't qualify for the 'Euroleague.' Sort of D League, except the teams can move up if they qualify.

Bottom line, RJ's days are over and he has no viable value in the NBA.

Maybe he has no value to us. But it is possible that somebody might take a long-shot on him. Especially if we were very close to bringing him over last season. I say we shop him and take the first offer that we get.

But he can jump high and dunk! That means he's a sure All-Star, right?

He is not a bad blocker - actually he was 4th this year in Euroleage in blocks per minute.

well, he looks pretty sick in the boxscores now. Thank goodness we didn't bring him over. At least Jackie Butler has a chance. They put up similar numbers this year.

Wow. The guy is really sucking wind.

People complain about some of Scola's stats, but Scola looks like MJ when compared to Robertas.

Don't judge a player by a boxscore.

So what really happened last summer with Javtokas and the Spurs? My read on it was that either he priced himself too rich or that the Spurs didn't think too highly of him and when they were able to land Elson they passed on bringing him in.
