Let's try to keep this to updates/background on Karaulov, at least at the start. Thanks.

I wonder if they'll bring him to summer league again or if the Spurs have officially given up on him.

Karaulov is playing with BC Khimky in rusian league.
He hasn't played a lot with teh first team (3 games with 5 mpg)and has mainly played with the second team (13 games, 8.9 points, 5 rebds, 1.3 blocks in 17:43 mpg).

7'1 and 232? Too skinny without the talent. Chalk it up to a late 2nd round longshot that didn't pay off, but how many do?

I wonder if he's still that skinny or that was his draft weight.

Russian league lists him at 253 lbs. now (115 kg).

Thanks, I was wondering about his weight. I don't know if he'll ever develop into anything but at least his size is more reasonable now.

Drafting 7 footers (who are not already superstars) is a complete waste. So there.

Nowitzki, amongst others, disagrees.

Now that Presti's gone, I wonder if the Spurs will still bother to have Karaulov on the summer league teams.

Okay, I'll amend the comment -- drafting 7 foot centers who aren't already superstars is a waste.

Check out this article -- red flags for draftees. One is being 7 feet tall. It's just one guy's opinion, but it makes sense. Oden will make it but I doubt Aaron Gray will.

Looks like he averaged 3.5 points and 2.7 rebounds on 45.6% shooting from the field in about 12 minutes per game. Wow, this guy has to go down as one of the worst draft picks in NBA history. The only thing notable about him now is he's on a new Russian team (Lokomotiv-Rostov).

It's officially time to forget this guy ever existed.
