It isn't one person - it's the whole media department that issues press passes - but the rule here didn't have much to do with press passes. It had to do with me deciding to agree to have a rule here about it.

You need to write a synposis (brief summary) of the movie and pitch it to agents. Then the agent will decide if they want to represent you and if they do, they will pitch the story to movie studios, finance people, whoever else might want to make the movie.

Then if those people want you to make it, they'll pay you to write the rest of the script.

So the first thing you need to do is write a synposis of the story. If you don't want to do the actual writing yourself, they you team up with a screen writer (I think a couple people here have experience writing screenplays). I don't have this kind of experience.

And you tell them the story and they do the actual writing part. You make a contract with the person that you are a writing team so that they don't steal your idea.

Once you have the synposis written, then you start contacting agents to see if they are willing to represent you.

That's what my dad did. He joined the Air Force during the Korean War so he could go to college. It worked out great for him. If you can't afford college right out of high school it is an attractive alternative. If you are willing to take the risks there are excellent benefits.

I grow up in a morally degenerate, post-American area called Northern California, where materialism and socioeconomic snobbery are the only values parents instill in their children. This is why I act 11 even though I'm allegedly 15. I am just a typical spoiled brat growing up in an affluent family on the West Coast. My largest appendage is my sense of entitlement.
