The Spurs of San Antonio de Bexar have won four NBA championships. Gone are the days when I would've cut off my nutsack for one. For those of you who have been on this long mission it has been quite an experience, has it not? We believed when others did not. We believed when it seemed certain San Antonio would lose its beloved Spurs.

It has yet to truly sink in, this magical run. There have been many highs and lows. Elliott's kidney. Duncan's knee. Orlando. Lakers. 0.4. Dirk's wrist. Yet the team persevered though it all and we fans did as well. The Spurs have never been the most flashy, never produced the most SportsCenter highlights. Yet we supported them through it all and well before that, back in the day when the team was a perennial also-ran, back when it was easy for others to disparage the ringless team from South Texas. Back when it was easy to pack it in and forget.

Now there are those who continue to carp, but they only manage to make fools of themselves, for their jealousy only gives us smiles as we look at how far this team has come, at how much it has achieved. You can't bring us down. We know how it feels, to be the fan of a ringless team. Sucks, doesn't it?

So I'd like to close this with a thanks to all Spurs fans and especially all Spurs fans of the internets. This has been a special experience seeing this team go from an empty trophy case to one with four Larry O'Briens. A team that has gone from "soft" to one of the greatest in NBA history. Your support never wavered. Your concern was always the same...'how does this team get better? Here's what I think...'

Man, 4 NBA championships. Anyone remember when you were rubbing your rosaries for Mitch Richmond or Latrell Sprewell in the silver & black?

I remember back in '93 when I thought Larry Stewart was the missing piece when he signed with the Spurs. But then the Washington Bullets matched the offer sheet.

How about the summer from hell aka 1992?

I remember being excited about the three-headed point guard.

Damn, it's sweet to have Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Michael Finley, and Brent Barry as our guards. Any of these guys would have been the best guard (by far) on that team.

How about the summer from hell aka 1992?

Turning down Charles Barkley for Terry Cummings and Willie Anderson and then Terry Cummings blows out his knee a couple weeks later.

Yeah, that wasn't the greatest summer of all-time.

Yeah, it's funny how for a decade Spurs fans were treated to some questionable, at best, backcourts and now they have one of the best 3 point shooting teams in the league and two star guards. We take that shit for granted now.

In David Robinson's rookie season, the Spurs hit as many three-pointers in the entire season as Finley hit in the playoffs alone.

That was before DRob's wonderful clause started to kick in. Plus the Microwave was a "name" from the Bad Boys.
