So Bonner should hold up 4 as well?
San Antonio has won 4 championships.
We are not going for individual awards here.

Bonner should stick to holding up Beer and Champagne.

Bruce, Manu and Tony flash three to each other. They are amazed they are part of 3 rings in a 5 year period. It's a good thing.

It's easier than flashing an asterisk.

3, 4 I dont care. I dont want anyone to ever forget the 1999 Championship.

Sean said it best regarding the short season, paraphrasing, "everyone had an equal chance, the playoffs were the same amount of games. 16 wins. i dont know why the debate.

back when that bastard Phil was talking out of his ass.

So were Shaq and Kobe supposed to put up nine fingers after the 2002 title?

Those players didn't win the 1999 title, so they don't take credit for it. They're not from San Antonio, and probably don't understand why its natives have such an inferiority complex about their home, so they wouldn't grasp the idea of having to validate the city by claiming all four titles.

Maybe Horry should have flashed four too.

This is probably the best kind of arguement to have isn't it? I think I see a Denver Nugget fan at the window staring in disbelief at our problems of how many fingers to hold up.

First post, and of course Go Spurs GO

Since there are six spokes on an asterisk, that means the Spurs need two more championships.

I have a serious question.......Since when did they put the lines on the basketball and then the net lines on the trophy? Has it always been there, I just haven't noticed it?

:lol I thought Tony was flashing the number 9 in Sign Language. I didn't quite understand why Manu was flashing the same sign. Maybe peer pressure?

From my count thats 2 legit banners, 1 asterisk, and 1 tainted.

Spurs are cursed

Yeah Bird when he won his last one should have flashed 16 fingers for god's sake.

From my count thats 2 legit banners, 1 asterisk, and 1 tainted.

Spurs are cursed
1999 - asterisk (shortened season)
2003 - accidental (Webber, Dirk injuries)
2005 - uncontested (Lakers broke up)
2007 - tainted (league failed to bend rules for Suns)

2000 - accidental (Duncan injured and Portland got jobbed)
2001- legit
2002 - fixed (Kings got robbed)

I think Shaq surgically had 6 fingers added to his hands so that he could hold up 16 fingers when the Lakers won in 2003.
