I LOVE this guy. But I do believe he has openly said that the NBA doesn't interest him at all. If that comment was fiction (or if hes changed his mind) then he would be a wonderful 58th pick.

Sooner or later it will. Physical wing with scoring ability and defensive promise? Lots of good reviews so far about his game.

yes, he has said this. some players are just realistic about their options. Maciulis is a SF with the game of a PF in a SG's body.
he is a great guy, but I also think he can't make up for his lack of size in the NBA. in Europe he can compensate with his fearless play. (very similar to Nocioni in the NBA, Nocioni is about 2" taller). he will have a nice career in Europe, get enough playing time, fans will love him and he will make more money than as a 3rd stringer in the nba.
the other point is, that meanwhile many European players hope to go undrafted. if they develope nice in Europe, they will get much better offers from NBA team some years from now and can choose the team they want to play for (see Nocioni). if they get drafted and later become stars in europe, there is a good chance that they will be lowballed by the nba tean that drafted them.

I thought he said he didn't think his game would translate to the NBA.
