View Full Version : Is this the worst bullpen ever?

I'm speaking, of course, of the Houston Astros, who at this point have the most predictable collection of jokers ever assembled in one pen. No lead is too big for them to blow. I've never seen such collective self-inflicted failure from any group of people.

They are now 12 of 26 on save opportunities. And that doesn't even take into account the games like yesterday where they've come in and put a winnable game out of reach.

Gagne's ERA just went from like .045 to 1.29. Let's hope Rangers can make up those two runs in the bottom of the 9th now.

Astros bullpen is worse than the Rangers starting pitching.

Bwahahaha, one run in already. :) GO RANGERS! At least one more, two would be good.

LMFAO.

Let the record show I made this post when it was 7-7.

Why the fuck is Wheeler STILL IN THE GAME????

The still-warm body of Rod Beck could pitch better out of the Astros bullpen.

They have been doing that a lot lately, they always fall behind (thanks, SP's) but seem to be able to come back. Let's hope for more of the same here.

Looks like Sammy is going to have to put one in the seats

Well, Rangers bullpen seems to want to give it away just as bad today. I guess this is the battle of who gives it away the most.

I predict a Cat 2 run shot coming up

What. The. Fuck. Gagne and Wilson are usually both very good. They must be sharing a water cooler with the Astros bullpen.

Will the Astros do the impossible and blow three save opportunities in the same game?

BUMP
06-24-2007, 11:04 PM
if the Astros blow this game the entire bullpen needs to be traded away or released and they need to start over with a bunch of guys from AA lol

some contending team will want the corpses of wheeler and chad balls. maybe some of the others too. that is one way to get some decent prospects back in the minors. i imagine gagne will be dealt to a contender as well.

Is it possible for Rangers to score at least three runs this inning? I will laugh my ass off if they do.

there were a decent number of stros fans at the game yesterday, and our collective groan when chad balls came out of the pen last night was hilarious.

Well that blew donkey balls. Good news is, our bullpen will be fine and we won the Silver Boot. I am happy with 2/3. GO RANGERS!!!

God both of these teams suck.

On the bright side, the Rangers look like they have been fighting a lot harder since Tex went down. If they could get some starting pitching relief in exchange for Tex they may have something for next season - at least be competitive.

Competitive losing I can watch. It's the 4 error games with stupid mistakes that is inexcusable.

Baltimore's bullpen is pretty damn awful as well - especially when you consider that they have quite a bit of money invested in it.
