Those that think it is all gangsta rap are missing a very creative and positive musical genre.

I'm into "the positive tip", hip-hop which emphasizes spiritual/emotional tones rather than thuggery and "being hard."

History; tribe called quest, de la soul, pe, Disposible Heroes,

Timvp obviously likes Outkast, and suggested cee-lo (tight), Dungeon family (harder to find). I found Common (eclectic, some edge), the roots (deep!,), pharcyde (lighthearted), dilated people (interesting), wyclef (fugees ), these are all good. I am looking into other, lesser known bands like jurrasic 5, roots manuva, MC Solaar...

but I am telling all rap lovers, right now Blacalicious is THE TRUTH. Check them out if you don't know them.

I've been really high on The Streets every since I heard him. You should check him out. He's incredible. But he may not be liked by everybody, the main complaint I get from people is his accent is annoying. But his songs are superb, especially from his most recent album.

I listen to just about everything but G Love and Special Sauce is my favorite band since back in the days. Songs from everything to b-ball, booty calls, and fishing will keep the mellow grove going for hours. The sound definately has some hip-hop beats with a dose of blues and other stuff good for the ear. The latest cd, "The Hustle" is the SHEEEEET.

They aren't rap.

Fuck, I can't stand them, what a disgrace.
