I love the rain. i should live in washington state.

I lived outside Seattle for 7 years.

I love the rain too but it did get old.

It was either raining, about to rain, or had just rained every day. It was always gray and misty.

I've heard Seattle has one of the highest suicide rates and it's due to the weather.

That gray can get to you. The sun comes out less than 100 days a year.

On the other hand, it is incredibly green there. The trees never change.

We need rain in Georgia so bad, the drought is already going to be 1 of the worst in history and it's only June. A lot of places cancelled outdoor watering completely and some places won't have fireworks in July 4th b/c of the fire risks.

The rain is great, its been a mild summer so far. Though where I live (Killeen Texas) the roads are built so crappy that they just wash away with a lot of rain. On top of that they've closed the lakes down so there no where to go for fun. Well unless you leave town which I do often because I live here.

Is el nino the reason for all this rain or what is the reason, offhand this is one of the wetter years i've seen in texas.

Funny thing about the El Niño/La Niña thing is that a few months ago they were saying we were going into a La Niña cycle so it was going to be a dry summer in TX. So much for that theory.

To this observer's eyes it seems like we have high pressure systems that just park for months and months at a time now, much moreso than we had 20-30 years ago. One has been camped out over Georgia and all the rain has been deflected around it all year. We have not had our summer high pressure in TX as a result and so we keep getting rain every time a low pressure impulse passes over us. There is normally plenty of moisture in TX skies in the summertime, just nothing to stir up the air and encourage vertical development of rainstorms. That has not been a problem this year, without the blocking high we've had impulses coming all the time.

MannyIsGod

June is actually one of the wetter months of the year. It isn't as hot as people think it is for the most part. This June is much wetter, but really this isn't that far out of the ordinary.

That being said, it is raining quite a bit and there is going to be quite a bit of flooding if this keeps up.
