IWC Schaffhausen Appoints Tony Parker as New Friend of the Brand
NEW YORK, June 28 PRNewswire — NBA champion Tony Parker has everything a man could ever want. Not only is he the second player in NBA history, after Kobe Bryan, to win three championships at the age of 25 and married to one of Hollywood's most beautiful actresses, but he is now the new friend to one of the most sought after watch brands, IWC Schaffhausen.

"I'm very excited to partner with IWC," says Parker. "I appreciate the design and craftsman ship of their watches. Also as First Ambassador to the Make A Wish Foundation in France, I've come to really appreciate the charitable enterprises that companies take on. In this area, IWC stood out — their involvement in social responsibility initiatives such as the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation which helps underprivileged youth around the world really impressed me."

Moving from France in 2001 to join the top-ranked San Antonio Spurs, Parker became the youngest player in Spurs' history and the youngest starting point guard in the NBA. Since then, he has continued to break records — he has joined the ranks of NBA legends Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant becoming only the 3rd player in NBA history to have won two championships by the age of 23 and this year becoming the second youngest player to win the championship three times as well as the first European to be named MVP of the tournament. For the second year in a row, Parker also participated in the NBA All-Star Game in Las Vegas.

Benoit de Clerck, President of IWC North America takes stock of this superb professional career as follows: "We are so proud to count such a popular figure as a friend of the brand. Not only does Tony's superb athleticism and passion for the game mirror our commitment to our consumers, but his dedication to the Make A Wish Foundation shows his compassion. To share another element of Tony's generosity, he donates a block of 20 tickets for each home game to underprivileged youth. At IWC, we measure our success by how we give back and we know that Tony will contribute a lot."

Just like Parker, IWC has been breaking records in technological development and highly complicated precision watch-making since 1868. As the "engineers of fine watch-making", the brand solely produces men's watches. The pieces incorporate intelligent designs in a timelessly classical style and are further distinguished by their superb user friendliness. The "Probus Scafusia" seal that appears on every watch promises good, solid craftsmanship from Schaffhausen and reaffirms the brands commitment to the future.

"Tony has an exciting career ahead of him and we look forward to watching our partnership grow in the future," says de Clerck.

IWC:

For more than 139 years, IWC Schaffhausen has been producing precision products of complex functionality and outstanding user-friendliness for watch connoisseurs who expect more from their watch than just having an accurate timekeeper. Since its foundation in 1868, the International Watch Company has built up a reputation as a long-established Swiss watchmaking firm with a passion for inventions, innovative solutions and technical refinements. Today the brand is more successful than at any time in its history. IWC uses this strength in a program of corporate social responsibility initiatives at home and abroad.
