Sorry to break the news to you tlong.....

Breakdown of the last 20 top #1 picks and how far the team that drafted the #1 has gone:

Won NBA Title: Tim Duncan, David Robinson :king
Lost NBA Finals: Iverson, Lebron James, Kenyon Martin, Shaq
Lost Conference Finals: Glenn Robinson
Won a playoff series, never advanced to conference Finals: Larry Johnson
Made playoffs, never won a series: Bargnani, Bogut, Kwame Brown, Derrick Coleman, Dwight Howard, Danny Manning, Yao Ming
Never made playoffs: Elton Brand, Pervis Ellison, Olowokandi, Joe Smith, Chris Webber

Then perhaps the article should have listed the TEAMs rather than the PLAYERs, e.g. "Teams too STOOPID to take advantage of their #1 picks." Since Shaq is the only one on the list who DID win a championship I'm OK with pointing out that at least it's a very poorly articulated thought.
