Seattle is going to have some good, young players.

06-28-2007, 06:57 PM
I wonder to what extent the whining about Bowen might have encouraged Presti to ship Allen out of town?

Do Allen and Pierce make Boston something like a soft version of the Nuggets with a better all-around center?

Marcus Bryant

You're going West, son.

Should have taken Corey Brewer at #5. They would've had the best offensive and the best defensive players (both already NBA caliber respectively) in the draft, and had one hell of a scary duo to build around.

Gros Membres!
06-28-2007, 07:26 PM

Belinelli is a great fit for the Warriors. He can really flourish in that kind of uptempo, wide open offense.

I am stuck at work and so am missing the draft. Watch this be the year the Spurs go and do something exciting.

My home computer is in the shop so that just about clinches that something big will happen. :lol

Solid D

I wonder if the Spurs are going to trade their #28 to Cleveland. There is some good talent left on the board.

ManuTastic
06-28-2007, 08:34 PM
Not sure why Portland wants a jerk-off like Francis anywhere near Oden. Seriously, that guy is a team-killer. Hopefully they just want the expiring contract, because otherwise they're out of their heads.

zekes
06-28-2007, 08:35 PM
wow portland is so making the playoffs next year.

pg. Franchise
sg.Roy
sf.Miles
pf. frye/Lamarcus
C. Oden

Depends on the health of Francis and Miles. Francis is a few years removed from being Franchise. Maybe they'll buy him out? Who knows how effective Miles will be coming back. With Jack starting, they still might be a playoff team. The West just keeps getting tougher.

jag
06-28-2007, 08:36 PM
Francis will be alright if there's a coach that will take care of his garbage.

Oh Ya:

Mitch Kupchak is a puppet. It's ruined the lakers.

06-28-2007, 08:36 PM
Wow, Jason Smith to Miami. I'm surprised with that pick. Crittenden was gone but I still expected them to go PG there.

zekes

Wow, Jason Smith to Miami. I'm surprised with that pick. Crittenden was gone but I still expected them to go PG there.

So did I. With all the talk of them trading Williams. Maybe they're working on a sign and trade with Posey for a PG.

Solid D
06-28-2007, 08:43 PM
Okay, so there is the explanation. Smith isn't staying in Miami. Going to Phila. and Daequan Cook to the Heat.

zekes
06-28-2007, 08:43 PM
There you go. They got some cash out of it.

You never should have to trade a pick for cash. You are basically giving up on every Tony Parker, Carlos Boozer, etc.

Pistons < Spurs
06-28-2007, 09:14 PM
bad move by Houston. They jsut traded for James at the PG. And they really need a PF. Hayes is nothing but a 20 minutes bench player. Should taken Fazekas.

Detroit should grad Byars......but then again we also need a big. Fazekas? Splitter? McRoberts?

well see, but I think it'll be Byars.

Some info on Splitter:

Strengths: Splitter is an outstanding defender with an NBA-ready body. His size and strength allow him to be an outstanding on-the-ball defender, yet he still does an excellent job rotating. Splitter is an excellent shot blocker for a European player and is a proven winner. He finishes well inside, often obtaining the vast majority of his points off of drop offs and offensive rebounds.

Outlook: Splitter will see himself drafted somewhere in the late lottery to mid first round. ACB playoffs will delay his arrival to the U.S. to work out for NBA teams. An ACB championship for Tau, combined with a strong performance by Splitter, might be enough to solidify him as a lottery prospect.

It says that he is an outstanding defender. So I think that is why the Spurs picked him...

By the way, did the Suns give their pick (Rudy Fernandez) to Portland? I don't see that news posted anywhere...

From Chad Ford, who coincidently had him ranked 33 on his top 100:

Gifted small forward who excels in the midrange. If he buys into the Spurs' system and learns how to play defense, he could be a steal at this point in the draft.

It'll take longer than that, they are so young. But they do have a good outlook, if everybody pans out they could be PO good in 1 to 2 years and contend in 4 or so.

edit - that's if everything pans out and best case scenario occurs.
