Draft Projection: Second round to undrafted

Positives: Excellent athlete. Possesses a 44-inch vertical. Good shooter with deep range. Poised leader. Clutch shooter.

Negatives: Undersized for the position. Streaky shooter at times. Didn't dominate in college the way his talent suggests.

Summary: Lewis really helped himself in the NCAA tournament, hitting a game-winning three against Xavier and another clutch shot against Tennessee.

Curtis Sumpter
Small Forward (Rank: #95) | 6-8, 227 | Age: 23
Villanova ()
Hometown: Brooklyn, NY

Draft Projection: Second round to undrafted

Notes: Two ACL surgeries in college should've ended his basketball career.

Positives: Has transformed his game to the point that he's looking like a legit three. Has shown legit three-point range on his jumper. Great size and length for the position. Great athlete before the surgeries. Tenacious defender when he wants to be. Can still play on the inside. Good, active rebounder. Tough. Good free throw shooter.

Negatives: The two knee surgeries are the biggest thing going against him. Scouts still wonder if he's a bit of a tweener. Before this season, his bread and butter was on the inside. Not much of a ballhandler. Rarely picks up an assist. Will he be quick enough to guard threes in the pros?

Summary: It's hard to believe that Sumpter has recovered to the point that NBA scouts are watching him closely again. If he hadn't had the knee surgeries, he'd be a first-round pick. As it stands now, someone may take a chance on him in the second round.

Are you saying this is who you want the Spurs to attempt to sign to their summer league?

I saw Sumpter play at Villanova and he was pretty good defensively as well as ok on offense and hustled. Was pretty strong for a small forward I remember and if knee ok, not a bad pickup and came from place with very solid coaching.
