i do. what can jefferson do that carter can't do better? neither shoots well, both rely on kidd to feed their dunks but at least carter can drive to the rim on his own. that's why the nets tank so much in the playoffs, no one can hit an outside shot consistently.

Now that they have carter under contact they'd be smart to ship RJ and Nenad to Indy for O'neal. A starting five of Kidd, Carter, Nachbar, O'neal and Moore would be good enough to make it deep into the playoffs... in the east.

even though.... giving away Krstic isnt very good for them long term

Yup. I would keep Krstic if I could. But then again, Kidd is old, and Carter isn`t getting younger. Might not be a bad idea, they could try to reach the finals. Would be great if they could ship out Moore and keep Krstic though.

I'd keep Kristic, and try to get what ever possible for Jefferson.

So answer me this, who is more of a retard?

Carter for opting out and being tied down for another 4 years
or
The Nets for failing to see his game is falling off

The Nets for paying him all that money.

If the Nets got JOneal, they would have two of the most overrated, overpaid players in the NBA. Those two play 82 games a year combined, sheesh.

The Star-Ledger reported on its Web site Sunday that the deal guarantees Carter $61.8 million over four seasons, with the team holding an option for a fifth year.

A day earlier the Nets announced Carter had opted out of the final year of a contract that would've paid him $16.3 million next season.

Hmm... Vince opts out of the last year worth 16.3 million, then signs a contract that averages out to be just a little over 15.4 million per year.

Looks like there wasn't as much interest from other teams as he thought. Oops. :tongue
