I was searching mock draft archives and found some rather interesting mock drafts. Apparently, James White and Tiago Splitter made huge mistakes by not declaring for the draft earlier.

Here is James White third (http://web.archive.org/web/20020725233942/http://www.nbadraft.net/) in a 2003 mock draft. Who was he behind? Some guys named LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony.

Here is Tiago Splitter third (http://web.archive.org/web/20030908105957/nbadraft.net/index.asp) in a 2004 mock draft. Who was he behind? Some guys named Dwight Howard and Emeka Okafor.

Too bad mock drafts don't count in the standings because the Spurs got a couple mock draft hall of famers.

The 2003 mock draft is a joke. Chris Bosh isn't even on it. And it has Kendrick Perkins and Chris Duhon that high? :lmao

Let's see if he makes the team first before you start getting upset about playing time.:)

Today's paper says they might even consider waiving him. Hopefully, he's awesome in summer league and gets an opportunity to make it in training camp.

We better hope White works out because if not, it looks like another year with no small forward. Same goes with Butler, if he doesn't work out, then there is no true center (not including Tim).

That would upset a hell of a lot of people in these forums if the spurs waived White.

People were about to sell their season tickets when Giorgos got traded to the Raptors, imagine if the spurs cut White...

Will be a shame if the Spurs don't give White more playing time next season.

I love the comparisons they make.

James White - Vince Carter
Tiago Splitter - Dirk Nowitzki/Pau Gasol

While I'd prefer for White to play better defense than Vince and for Splitter to be more clutch than Dirk, I think I'll take those comparisons anyday!

People say the Spurs should win now while this nucleus is together and then go and say something stupid about James White must get PT. The kid will get PT if he deserves it, but first and foremost put the best players on the floor to win another title.

Just seeking a little info. If your onthe D-league, do you have to be under contract? i guess what im getting at is; Does White have to be on the team in order to play in the D-league? if not under contract, do we still keep his rights?

why is everyone so hung up on this james white guy? if he was soo damn good, why wasn't he already on a team? surely...if he was that good or had THAT much potential, some of the worst teams in the league would have taken a chance on him.

The thing with White is that he has all the potential in the world but theres not gaurantee that he'll ever realize it. If James White were to realize 50% of his potential then he would be a solid player in this league for years. While I believe that he has even more potential (enough to be a star) than simply that I don't think he'll ever realize it. But if he buys into the Spurs system he will get better...its just a question of how much.
